As well as lodging challenges, it would really help my poor old over-worked administrative slave
Betty mei-sun Moor if players could formally accept challenges on the thread so I can accurately and quickly action updates for other players to keep track. At the same time, the campaign committee of myself and a startled and confused stray cat at my window thank-you for your continued interest and suggestions.

Hi WH85,
Next time, you need to change to anti-imperial on extra nations v3. Then you have the option of Swedish peasants, Swedish 1649-1675 or Swedish 1676-1679. Good luck

I, McAwsum Laird of The Glens,
do hereby array my forces to defend my German Subjects from the cruel and rapacious Persian invaders, we will not use professional mercenaries in this defense but call out the arrea-ban, namely German Peasants 1524-1526. We plan to make Germany safe from Muslim hordes for another 500 years.
This is our 3rd defense of our territories this turn alone, Germany, Switzerland and Scotland are invaded by Persians, Italians and Irishmen.

Clearly, envious of your whiskey, lager and fondue parties. After all it is nearly the festive season...

The sultanate is sad to report that the previous wholesale loss of our extraordinary hats was a demoralizing blow, even before our force took the field. This loss, combined with the unfortunate delay of our new more streamlined Moroccan fez's meant a repulse was inevitable... it was indeed a shameful display. Undeterred, the Moroccan Mad Hatter may very well return next season depending on successful trials in our gorgeous new fezs once they are widely distributed.

Ottoman Turks capture Russia.
An invasion force of 8,441 Ottoman Turks has, after a long drawn out campaign, captured Russia by defeating the 9,030 Russian Army lead by the much admired and very competent Russian General, Mouse-E- Tungovitch, aka TGM. 43% - 61%

The Moroccan Mad Hatter accepts this challenge from the infidel usurper. By the way can I interest you in our sale of some slightly soiled super-silly Moroccan hats?
Battle set up: Armies; Ottoman Turks 1610-1617 vs Moroccan 1540-1698, Terrain; pot luck, Hats; essential due to the hot North African sun. pw = hatter

GD you have played a blinder defending Morocco with the illegal army, brilliant use of terrain, excellent battle group formations allowing for superb tactics, amazing deployment with ambushes behind every tree, the luck of the Mad Hatter's Irish Mother causing much disruption amongst the Janissaries.
I think that you deserve a Christmas pressie.
I will not call foul and demand a restart, but allow you to guide your boys onto a magnificent victory in a couple of turns.

Ottoman Turks capture Austria
An invasion force of 8,273 Ottoman Turks has, in a lightning campaign, captured Austria by defeating the 13,044 Imperial Army of Africa lead by the very over-worked General ( gallops from one Battle to another non stop ), Lion Cub of the North, aka waterhead1985. 21% - 49%

Too kind Brian? We'll have to disappoint our advance guard in Malbork who have already prepared eggnog and a huge Christams tree in the forested baltic mists to welcome our sun-drenched moslem brothers [and they promised us a white Christmas!]

We are pleased to report the Invasion of Morocco, now known as Hattin 2,[1] was defeated by the military genius of our Sultan and his capable Imɣṛabiyen general.
[1] refers to the debute of new Morroccan Hats
Wearing our new fez's and leather balgha [بلغه] the army quietly took up positions on a hill flanked by forested woods. Numerous other units quietly settled into one of these woods on the Moroccan left. Undetected in the woods, our numerous but antiquated arquebus advanced in the centre to open the day with a firefight but were poorly matched against the Ottoman Janasseries new fangled muskets despite supporting fire from heavy guns on the hill. Similarly, the Moroccan horse were outclassed by the heavier Ottoman cavalry. Despite these disadvantages, or indeed because of them, a full scale advance was ordered. While a late start by the Moroccan right and a feigned retreat by the Ottomans to a less exposed position not only showed the mettle of these well-disciplined soldiers but fortunately for the Sultan delayed an inevitable Moroccan collapse on this flank. Meanwhile, things started to go wrong for the Ottomans elsewhere when their advance in the left wood was checked and the Moroccan cavalry held up units long enough for the Moroccan arquebusiers and spearmen to enter the fray in the woods on the Moroccan right. Although, the Ottoman right advanced unchecked and a single unit of Ottoman Siphas finally broke through the Moroccan line to take a unit of heavy guns in the centre, the battle was over with many Ottomans wishing they had stayed in their Turkish bathhouses

Wouldn't it be nice to zoom out and take a screen snapshot of the entire field...
Footnote: Rumour has it that KiwiLordski have now decreed the successful Moroccan fez should now be worn by all the military in his subjugated Turkish lands. Reputedly, in preparation for a new bid for dominance of North Africa and Asia in the new year

Never knew that there were so many trees in Morocco, and behind every one was a Lancer Cav or a Spearman
Never seen you play so well before GD, those Hats work well.
Well deserved Victory.
