Ironclad (Later Alex Macedonian) 26/41 vs Flatsix518 (Pontic early) 43/43

The Pontics cleverly lured the Macedonian left into a carefully constructed cavalry ambush but just as it was about to snap shut the rest of their army was overwhelmed in a couple of turns when the Macedonian infantry, blessed by good fortune, launched a series of devastating attacks. Thanks for an enjoyable game.

Ironclad (Later Alex Macedonian) 34/41 vs Ulysisgrunt (Attalid Pergamene) 41/41

The Macedonian attempt to smash through the enemy centre with all their heavy and most of the medium infantry was held whilst the better deployed Pergamenes made rapid progress on the wings pushing on into their opponents rear and attacking the camp there. Fortunately for the Macedonians the outnumbered and brave Pergamene centre finally collapsed with heavy losses allowing them to snatch the victory. Great game, thanks.

I'll post the stats results when Ulysisgrunt (clever name!) is shown on the table.

Div C Result

Lydianed (EAP) 28/41 vs. Dave_r (Lydian) 54/51

The Lydians got the better of an early cavalry scrap and took a 15 point lead over the persians. The difficulty of an army largely composed of average hoplites soon manifested as the Lydians struggled to gain on their lead especially in the face of withering bow shot and immortals perched on hills. Once the main hoplite pack got into trouble the Lydians quickly succumbed. Not a great match up for Dave but he played his hand as best he could.

That's my final game then. Thanks to all my opponents. Okie has yet to post our result (he won grrr...) but I think the final standings won't change much. Whoever takes the EAP next season is likely to do very well

I had two extremely lucky turns which proved to be decisive.
