Five players have reverted with wishes to get new armies, as follows:
SawyerK: immediately switches to Spanish (Lusitanian) 300-10 BC
CaptainWalterSavage: already has Greek (Mercenary) 460-281 BC
imatson2527: switches to Roman 340-281 BC after conclusion of battle with dim30 (dim30 will then get to decide between keeping Thracian (Triballi) 350 BC-46 AD and switching to Spanish (Celtiberian) 300-10 BC)
ericdoman1: switches to Thracian (Hellenistic Getae) 329-281 BC after conclusion of battle with rbodleyscott (rbodleyscott will then keep Spartan 461-281 BC since imatson2527 switches to Roman 340-281 BC)
Karvon: immediately switches to Sarmatian 350 BC - 24 AD

Andreas, he has not accepted yet. I posted the challenge on the board and sent him a message but have not heard back.

Hello,
19. Malabar26 Armenian 331 BC - 252 AD won against Greek 460-281 BC 20. trw2264
Kronenblatt, as I told you in a PM I retire from both the 300 and 900 Ever-Green league for the duration of the DL because there are only so many challenges I can play.
Have fun! cheers.

Hello everyone! Some thoughts on retiring temporarily from the Ever-Green Leagues. Please note that instead of retiring temporarily, it's possible to achieve a lighter load of games to play simply through:
- not make any challenges of your own.
- decline challenges if you don't have the time to play the games (always possible).
- play the game in a slow pace (up to three weeks between challenge and concluded game).
This means that
at the maximum one game per section needs to be played over a three-week period. At the maximum.

The most games you can play at any given time in EGL is 3 and I think that is a rarity. Malabar probably meant challenges in the digital league as well. Had a quick look he's in Classical, Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages. When digital league has finished. There'll be queues of players wishing to join. Andreas you'll have to charge them:)

I got that, and it's not about Malabar; these are my general thoughts (although I quoted his message to put it in context). And I'm not really looking at extended the number of players; around 15 works well from an administration point of view.
My message is: Leaving and re-entering the EGL will involve more work for me managing and administering the EGL than simply staying passive á la the three bullet points that I presented above. And as you and I said: never more than one game will need to be played per section over a three-week period. Most often substantially fewer.

Leave it as it is, including those who have retired. They may well be overtaken but their place is still available.
Could you set p and post a drop box or something similar on the EGL so that players can change scores etc and will always be in the league, so that you can "drop" in at any time. Less admin for you.

Yes, will do that going forward for players who so desire.

I believe this type of league requires someone to continually hold the admin together. Stepping out and in as admin to fix things etc. is likely to only to create more admin for me. Of course, the alternative is to make it entirely and collectively administered by the players participating.

Klayeckles (macedon) defeats deeter (kyreneans) 49 to 9
late in the day the macedoneans emerged from heavy woods on the lightly defended flank of the kyreneans resting on a long hilltop ridge. this led the kyrenean commander to order his center and far flank forward, coming off the high ground to engage the enemy. but the macedon center was pike heavy, and the flank fell to superior numbers before a counter flank move could succeed.
