If the chariots came as
knock-down kits, it would be relatively simple to have the kits carried up the hill, assembled at the top, then when the time is right, like the knights and the Trojan Rabbit in "The Holy Grail", charge down the hill...

Most of my battle plans are Monty Python like (or probably more Fawlty Towers!). The matter was raised at the recent court martial of the Sub General in charge of chariots. He reported that the alan key was missing from the flat packed "Value EZ-fit Heavy Chariot pack" and by the time he got back from Ikea to get another one the battle had finished. He has of course now been promoted to Minister of War where he cant do any real harm.

				Division E
Kroche (Seleucid 300-206BC) defeated angel42052 (Bosporan 84-11 BC) 41-8
Seleucid main force survived the mass of light archers and was then able to get numbers into the flank of the Bosporan main defence line and claim victory. Smaller detachment on the left was rendered ineffective by an harrassing force of Bosporan light horse and cavalry producing a stalemate on the left. Good game.

Captainwaltersavage (Imperial) defeated Kroche (French) 60-52
A great mirror which saw a valiant effort from both sides in their attempts to gain the crown. Games followed a similar pattern in terms of where successes were made. The French right proved too much for the Imperial opposition whereas the opposite was true on the other flank. My imperial forces had won by the 10 pt margin with the other battle still in play. My French were out-manouvered by the Imperials who were very unlucky not to gain further points on their left as they cornered the French cavalry, but could not quite get them off the map before French support could come up. My French knew their Imperial allies had given them the 10pt margin and they fought tooth and nail to not let CaptainWalterSavage's Imperials get the winning margin they needed. It was my most enjoyable and hard fought losing performance by far!
2 pt overall winning margin has made me respect my skirmisher units a lot more and I'll try to keep them alive in future matches as much as I did in this one!
Well played to Captainwaltersavage who commanded the Imperials very well and was obviously unlucky across both matches to be just 2pts down.
Kroche beat Captainwaltersavage 10-8 on the tiebreaker after matches were drawn 1-1.

Both very close matches and I definitely suffered the curse of the RNG as my troops double dropped on contact too many times to remember. On the other hand I took some daring chances that failed to succeed and my impetuous approach was my downfall. If I had run away with some of my light troops instead of trying for a break of some denuded spearmen then we would be tossing a coin to see who had won. On the other hand Kroche stopped my stratagems and found my mistakes with great precision. A well-earned victory by a skilful player. If I was going to lose, that was a great way to go.
