The target is to complete 3 matches in each section you have entered at what will be the half-way stage of the tournament. There are no exemptions for this except for players who have joined the tournament as a very late reserve.

One of the players who has a match in progress with mr cholo has received a message dated 1/7. What is happening is not mr cholo's fault and he hasn't just gone AWOL without telling anyone. So I am going to be patient and see if the situation improves this week. We do not actually have a reserve available for Early Middle Ages Division A at the moment and I have written to 2 A-rated players who have put their names down as reserves in other sections to see if they would be prepared to stand in for the second half of the season. I will keep you updated with the latest developments.

Division D
Kerait (Moorish with Byzantine) defeats ggarynorman (Roman) 35-0.
The Moors parked their horse archers, lancers and irregular foot in a highly defensible position - a hill behind a river. The Roman line advanced, but was assailed from the rear by interminable swarms of Moorish lights. The Moorish skirmishers inflicted terrible casualties amongst the Romans, and when the battered Roman army failed to make headway against the Moorish line upon crossing the river, the Roman general conceded - understandably - given the incredibly annoying nature of the Moorish army. Good game!

Division D
Kerait (Moorish with Byzantine) defeats Blagrot (Germanic/Gothic Horse Tribes with Dacian) 54-28.
Good game, Blagrot! Sorry that I didn't say it in-game, it ended suddenly.
Once again, the swarms of Moorish lights bombarded the enemy with such a preponderance of javelins that they had devastated the Gothic lines by the time they fell on the weak Moorish formation. Although the Goths almost annihilated the small Moorish core troops in the final engagement, a couple of nasty flanks and the sheer scale of the losses to the lights led to a Moorish victory, albeit at considerable cost.

Division C
lunecastle – Welsh (North) 1100-1295 AD with English 1155-1271 AD allies beats edb1815 - Italian (Ghibelline) 1200-1319 AD with German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD allies 40-14
As Edb1815 remarked, a map eerily similar to Agincourt. The Welsh managed to put
pressure on the Ghibelline right, and bowmen managed to hold long enough for the cavalry to arrive.
The welsh centre was being destroyed, but the Italian right flank collapsed.
Maybe revenge for my Babylonian right flank in DL6 lol.
Thanks for a very interesting game Edb1815. All the best, Lunecastle.

Division E
gamercb (Scots-Irish) beat olddog52 (Byzantine) 49-19
The stream proved useful in countering the Cavalry advantage against the Scots-Irish foot so they could surround them and destroy them.

SawyerK with the uphill Arab army defeated bomber23 with the downhill forces by 62 to 42
A hard and well fought match. Fighting upslope is very difficult as I am finding out in the mirror battle.

Division E
MarcoCato75 - Seleucid 205-167 BC with Greek 227-146 BC allies defeats Bodhran - Pontic 84-47 BC 47-19
A dificult game with two separate scenarios: one cavalry battle where my elephants were decisive and a melee when the pikes have a difficult time fighting close to a forest. Very well played Bodhran!

by Morat
Division C
Morat (Bohemians/Hungarians) beat lunecastle (Welsh/English) 51-26.
Bohemian heavy foot battered their way through the Welsh lines in the centre, while the forces on the right flank did just enough to slow the Welsh flanking moves.
Thanks to lunecastle for a good game, played in a good spirit.

Division C
Morat (French) beat Rob123 (British) 62-43
Hard fought game where a French flanking cavalry attack was rebuffed by the British, but the French foot and horse in the centre and on the left managed to get the upper hand against their foes.
Thanks to Rob123 for a good game, played in a good spirit.

Division B
lydianed (Palmyrans) defeated devoncop (Bosporan with Romans) 63:56
In a game which both sides seemed determined to lose, my flaky Palmyrans managed somehow to be less awful than usual. Top marks to my opponent who made this a tough encounter.
