Fi-156 Storch

I was awarded a Fi-156 Storch one time. As it is the only SE plane, is it not an error ? Don't you want to remove the "bonus" attribute to this plane in the equipment list (line 1593) ?

I'll pass it on to Airbornemongo because the custom equipment file for SS-GTPG is his turf ;).

Another thing is strange, now that I have a look to the equipment list, the number in bracket is the one in the multipurpose column.
72 8.8 cm Pak 36 (99)
99 8.8 cm FlaK 36 (72)
100 12.8 cm FlaK 40 (72)
1563 SS 8.8 cm Pak36 (99)
1582 SS 8.8 cm FlaK36 (72)
1583 12.8 cm Pak40 (99)
1584 SS 12.8 cm Pak40 (99)
1585 SS 12.8 cm FlaK40 (72)
1606 SE 12.8 cm FlaK 40 (72)
1607 SE 12.8 cm Pak40 (99)
1608 SE 8.8 cm FlaK 36 (72)
1609 SE 8.8 cm Pak 36 (99)

From what I see, the 8.8 cm is working correctly, going from number 72 to 99, and back.
However, for the other flak units, the conversion must not be working...

As a example, a SS 8.8 cm Flak36 is converted in a standard 8.8 cm Pak36.
Moreover, a 12.8 cm FlaK 40 is converted in a 8.8cm Pak36...
This last column needs certainly some changes...

No it does not certainly need to be changed,,,look at the vanilla icon for the 12.8cm ,,,the vanilla 12.8 uses the vanilla 8.8cm icon,,,thus........they all use the 8.8cm.

While your looking at the equipment file you'll notice the devs did the very same thing w/ numerous tanks,,,2-3 models would use the same icon. The vanilla Pionere43 uses the original icon.

IE:PIIIE uses the PIIIF icon (or vice-versa,,I forget and I've been up for over 24 hrs after doing 18hrs straight at work,,so I'm not going to bother to look). There is also other numerous examples,,but like I said,,I'm beat.

The SS and SE icons uses the stock png for the game,,,,as all the towed arty and towed flak.........as I explained in the read me /changelog there is no camo scheme ....yet for the towed equipment,,,nor was there for the flak units,,,,,thus the towed SS and SE equipment uses the vanilla png.

I tested all of the dual mode arty and flak units....all switch and all show correct animation when firing,,granted the towed stuff is all Feld Grau. Thanks to a very genorous and talented member that will change soon and they will have there own color scheme and there own png's,,but right now they use the stock png.

So there is 3 different sets of towed units using the vanilla png's...The Heer,,The Waffen SS,,and the SE Heer..

The Storch is available in the SS as the only bonus unit,,,thus when I made the Elite Units Mod I left it as a bonus only unit. The Storch is the only aircraft avail. as a bonus,,because of it being a recon aircraft,,which the original game lacked. When more quality skins are made for aircaft that will change. There will be more aircraft avail as bonuses,,but the Storch will stay as a strictly bonus unit.

I hope the above makes sense,,but I just hit 26hrs,,and I can't pull marathons like I did when I was young and dumb (still got the dumb part,,lost the young aspect). VPaulus,,EL Condoro and Flak are the people who taught me,,so they might be some help in better explaining if my post didn't make sense or something needs to be expalined more until I wake up.

I'm going to bed..........Thank f$%king God it's Friday and this week is over.

ABmongo, yes, those 88's do look nice. He sent me some icons. I asked him to to a PAK 75 and PAK 43 for me too. I hope he will send them along to you. If not, I will. :D

And as for tinkering with units in the Equipment Editor, I know, my friend, just how tedious it can get! I tend to "hole up" like a cave man when I get into that sort of thing. I also avoid mind altering liquids and fluids, naked women or other distractions. Too easy to make a minute mistake that will mangle and destroy a mountain of work.

Yep Flak,,he did

They look truly awesome as does every thing he's done.

I'm actually very truly humbled that he is taking the time to do 2 complete sets of skins for the Elite Units Mod,,,plus the sounds.

I JUST TESTED ALL THREE VERSIONS OF THE FOLlOWING.....ONCE AGAIN. THEY WORK

Stuh42

Stug IV

12.8cm

8.8cm.

I wouldn't have been able to sleep if I was thinking I had srewed up.

I hear about the detail Flak,,,,if anything working on the equipment file and efx fiel turned me into a boderline obsessive-compulsive,,btw just call me Mongo. That's my real-life nick-name,,but it was taken as a screename here,so I did the abn. and 101 to it so I could register

Good night to all  .......,,,,it's almost 1300 and I'm finally getting to bed

I only need time.
I thought that I could work in more than in one project at the same time, but I can't.
So I'll finish first the Slovak units (there aren't much left).

First, thank you for all the work you are doing.
Concerning the Storch, I understand your point of view.
Concerning the flak units, I am not complaining about the png file, but about the version it is converting to. Here is an example from my game.
I bought the SS 8.8 flak 36, ID 1582. If during play, I convert it to anti-tank, it is converted (last column) to unit 72, thus standard 8.8 Pak36.
When you convert it back to flak (last column, multipurpose ID is 99), it becomes a normal 8.8 flak 36 (no more SS).
As a result, I have to repay between two missions to upgrade back to a SS version. Multi-purpose is changing units type during my game.

It seems to me that the values should be:
72 8.8 cm Pak 36 (99)
99 8.8 cm FlaK 36 (72)
100 12.8 cm FlaK 40 (1583)
1563 SS 8.8 cm Pak36 (1582)
1582 SS 8.8 cm FlaK36 (1563)
1583 12.8 cm Pak40 (100)
1584 SS 12.8 cm Pak40 (1585)
1585 SS 12.8 cm FlaK40 (1584)
1606 SE 12.8 cm FlaK 40 (1607)
1607 SE 12.8 cm Pak40 (1607)
1608 SE 8.8 cm FlaK 36 (1609)
1609 SE 8.8 cm Pak 36 (1608)

Ok,,,now I see what your saying

The unit reverts to a normal Flak again

I'll check it out and fix it.

Thanks for the heads up and you investigating the problem, I do appreciate it.

Have you tested your fix?

1608 SE 8.8 cm FlaK 36 (1609)
1609 SE 8.8 cm Pak 36 (1608)

Your right....it does switch back permantly to vanilla version...and the 12.8 switchs to the 8.8

I will fix this and make 2 new clone icons for the 12.8 (1 ea. for SS and SE Paks) and give it a whirl,,,providing the tests work the fix will be posted tommorow

I was so worried about the icons "working right" that I neglected to make sure the info panel was right.

Good catch..........My thanks

Your are welcome.

I made the modification, and it is working, but only for a new campaign.
There is something really not clear for me, but it seems that a "savegame" incorporates also the equipment table, and as a result, only a new campaign is affected. As a "savegame" is a binary file, I don't know if it is really true.

If the equipment table is really saved in the "savegame" file, it is quite strange as a construction, meaning that modification of the equipment file cannot be applied during a campaign, and that you have to start back.

Does anyone knows if it is the case ?
