Thanks Amaz.
This was a way for GrayMouser to join in...let him frolick about with Burgundy's second army.
Scar:
Do we post
here in public or to you in
pm if we offer alliance with England or France??
Amaz:
Are the shields representing actual army locations? Burgundy's Army of Bar doesn't exist yet.

No, please PM me for official alliances. The shields should be right now, they looked right to me. Burgundy has an army in Burgandy and the fief of Lorraine has an army in Lorriane.
Please vote in poll for is we want to use Fog of War

Scar asked me to poll players about whether to use Fog of War in our battles.
I couldn't post a poll in this thread - please register your vote in the separate thread.
Poll is open for 2 days only!

We finished the declare alliances phase early, so we can move on to movement. Please be sure and check the events page as it has been updated.
Also, you should PM me your movements as it is all simultanous.
As always if you have any questions, please contact me.

Re movement:
What if armies go past each other. Lets say hypothetically

that I,Luxembourg move to Lorraine and vice versa. Will we just end up in each others territory?
Maybe there should be some chance for the armies to bump into each other on the way if they are not allies.
Otherwise we can be going back and forth as we don't know the movement beforehand. It's battles we want most after all. Not sieges even if that's ok too.

besides moving armies, can we send additional orders, like taking a loan or sending money? what about recruitment, is it limited to winter pr can we recruit any season?

More questions:
7. Recruitment
- A Kingdom may recruit new troops for 2 Silver Marks per build point. These new troops may be added to any army currently located in a home or allied province.
It doesn't say here but I think I've read that an army that wants to recruit must stay in place for the season. Correct?
- A Kingdom may raise a new army. Such army costs 100 Silver Marks to form, and then 2 Silver Marks per build point expended. Once formed, it must be placed in a home province.
D. Army Limits:
France: May have a maximum of three armies in the field.
England: Maximum of two armies in the field.
Burgundy: Maximum of two armies in the field.
Duke of Brittany: Maximum of two armies in the field.
Count of Flanders: Maximum two armies in the field.
Duke of Normandy: Maximum two armies in the field.
All others: Maximum one army in the field.
Does it mean that the limit is in place only at the beginning and if and when we are able we can raise new armies?

Recruitment and loan are in separate sequenses during a turn, First alliances, then movement, then battles and so forth.

I understood it to be we are limited to the specific number of armies. So:
Luxembourg will always have one army maximum on the board. Burgundy also just one. Otherwise, it would be like the LW campaign with endless hordes of armies everywhere.
Can we recruit 4 times in a year? Or just in winter?

I believe you can recruit at anytime, the new boys have to be in a home province so you cant recruit while in enemy territory.

ya..seems so...but it is expensive

You can have more armies, but they cost 100 silver marks and then 2 silver marks per build point. Add upkeep to that and it will be expensive to maintain more than one or two more armies for anyone.

Hmmm. I thought the limits mentioned were for the campaign. Scar?

Ah, reading again it seems that it is the maximum, but if you had built less than the maximum at the opening of the campaign you could build the other armies later. Maybe it's possible to lose an army? And it would certainly be possible to disband an army, so that would explain the 100SM build cost.

Yes. For example, Burgundy only started with 1 army. I had planned to build a second one but it ended up going to Lorraine.
Scar: In the winter turn, is upkeep paid before income comes in? Or is it simultaneous?

I had already planned to flip a coin in that case. The winner of the coin flip will fight the dag battle on the losers province. So in your example, say Lorrain and Luxemburg each send an army to the others province. Luxemburg wins the coin flip. The battle will be fought in Lorraine province, if Lorrain wins, Luxemburg must retreat and go back to Luxemburg. If Luxemburg wins the battle, Lorrain will have to eithe retreat from the province, or retreat into its province castle.
While this puts a slight advantage on the winner of the flip, I think it fits well and gives a bit of realism, as one army might have been moving faster etc.

Each season has a very specific turn sequence in the rules, from 1-7.
1. Declare Alliances
2. Movement
3. Battles
4. Retreats
5. Pay upkeep
6. Income (winter only)
7. Recruitment

As long as your in a friendly or allied province during the recruitment phase, you can recruit.
A kingdom that has not reached its army max may form the new army during any recruitment phase.
