Battles
1a. Conquest: kronenblatt (Romans V, 1475 FP) versus Geffalrus (Romans III, 1575 FP) in V Germania Superior. North European Agricultural.
2a. Conquest: Geffalrus (Romans III, 1575 FP) versus kronenblatt (Romans V, 1475 FP) in XXIX Africa. Desert.
3a. Conquest: Aetius39 (Romans IV, 1600 FP) versus kronenblatt (Romans V, 1475FP) in XXIII Syria. Desert.
3b. Raid: Aetius39 (Alamans, 1600 FP) versus Geffalrus (Romans III, 1600 FP) in VI Agri Decumates. North European Agricultural.

Please note
  • The attacker (first player above) advises to the defender (second player above) whether to use allies (and then which allies).
  • The defender creates the challenge in the FoG2 Multiplayer Lobby, always with himself as Side B (in order for the other player to immediately be able to deploy and make first round when accepting the challenge).
    • In order to create a challenge with An Empire in Flames armies, after having launched New Challenge and Create Skirmish, press Select Another Module and therein An Empire in Flames v3, which will make the An Empire in Flames armies available.
    • All battles (whether Conquests or Raids) take the form of:
      • Custom Battle
      • 24 turns
      • Remove the Head scenario
      • Large (1600 FP) force size (adjusted for Roman factions by their players' current FP Penalties in Conquest battles, as specified above in the respective battles)
      • Wide (40x32) map size
      • Map type as specified in the rules (and on the map) for each province.
    • No map re-rolls will be made.
    • The faction routing the enemy or killing the enemy's C-in-C is considered the victor. If neither faction routs the enemy or kills the enemy's C-in-C, it is considered a draw.
    • Battle outcome, once resolved, is posted by the winner, or the player having inflicted the most casualties, in a post in the campaign thread.
And
  • In this eighth round four additional provinces (i.e., five provinces in total) will be taken control of by the victor (if any) in a Conquest battle.
  • This will be in addition to any further additional provinces for the victor if killing his enemy C-in-C in the Conquest battle.

  • Geffalrus' provinces are evenly split between kronenblatt and Aetius39, due to Geffalrus leaving the campaign for health reasons.
  • kronenblatt gains 7 of Aetius39's provinces.
kronenblatt (22.5 provinces, 1475 FP, 0 C-in-C's fallen in battle)

Round IX (276-278 AD): attack declarations

by kronenblatt
Attack declarations (order based on number of controlled provinces and then FPs)
  1. kronenblatt (22.5 provinces, 1475 FP, 0 C-in-C's fallen in battle): April 8.
  2. Aetius39 (3.5 provinces, 1600 FP, 2 C-in-C's fallen in battle): April 9.
Please note
  • The attack declaration should be made in a post in the campaign thread on the forum.
  • There are two types of attacks (Conquest and Raid).
  • Players are each round required (if possible) to declare one Conquest attack but can decide whether to also declare one Raid attack that round.
    • A player’s Conquest and Raid attacks in a round cannot be made upon one and the same Roman faction but must be made upon two different Roman factions.
  • Example on how to express an attack declaration:
    • Conquest: kronenblatt attacks rs2excelsior's Italia (XIII) from Raetia (VII).
    • Raid: Franks attack Germania Inferior (IV) from homelands.
    • Raid: Franks attack from Germania Inferior (IV). (this normal raid attack requires Germania Inferior (IV) to have already been successfully raided and thus looted by the Franks.)
    • (Sea) Raid: Goths attack Macedonia (XVII) from homelands. (sea raid attacks are always made from Goths' homelands.)
  • Date (midnight CET (Rome) time) above indicates deadline, after which opportunity for you to declare attack is forfeited and the player next in line may declare his attack.
  • Once you have declared an attack, please PM the player next in line, who will then be free to declare his attack, up to his deadline, so we all don't need to wait for each player's deadline.

Aetius39 attacks kronenblatt's XIV Dalmatia from XV Moesia Superior.

Aetius (Romans IV) defeats kronenblatt (Romans V) 43-11

The Roman V army retreated and reformed farther south, but the Roman IV managed to get a few early breaks, along with an interesting side cavalry battle away from the main army. GG as always!

Aetius (Romans V) defeats kronenblatt (Romans V) 48-22

Legions cracked enough holes before scary large group of cavalry could do much harm. GG!

Yes, the power struggle continues. :) But it will have to take off again after summer.

Or do you suggest a draw; a permanent division of the Empire?

I prefer a finish, if possible.

How about one last battle, a great mighty battle, in the middle of the divided empire, to decide it once and for all?^^

Winner gets the empire. What do you think? We could prob finish in a week or less if we pick a time we both on.

Let me know!

The Battle of the Milvian Bridge! At current FPs or 1600:1600? Or maybe even 2000:2000 for a grand battle?

In any event, will be difficult to start and conclude before summer breaks, so let’s do that mid-August, ok?
