This is true, much depends on the scale of the map.
But even more affects the game opportunities and limitations of the AI.
Its ability to conduct counter-battery fire and remove units from under attack, more long-range artillery.
If the range of artillery will exceed, the AI will not be able to do anything against it. Everything is not very good here.

Intenso82: Yes, I forgot that your mod will be about the human player using the Soviet side... It's better not to make "radical" changes to unit parameters, taking the risk of breaking the AI moves...
Changing the subject... A new version of the M1943 Regimental gun... The base gun icon is the same, but I modified the crew members template (the figures now obscure somewhat the gun, but they look better in the perspective, and the figures do not look very big). I updated the files in the previous post, and I attach here a preview...

Here is the update of the 152 mm M1943 (ML-20)... The pack with base icons and mask for both variants (direct and indirect fire) and also the regular Soviet green-colored icons... Enjoy!

After Intenso82 sent me a screenshot of the previous version of theses gun icons I made, I took his advice that they look a bit large, specially bearing in mind that I will also plan to make new icons for the Br-2, B-4 and Br-5, and because of the icon size limit, they could not be made still larger... So, here are the new version of this unit, with reduced size (90%), complete with base icons and masks. Thanks Intenso82 for the feedback!

An experimental Soviet HQ icon, with the officers figures placed on a piece of scenery (the remains of a thick-walled building). The figures are on approximately the same scale as the regular PzCorps infantry icons, give or take a pixel. I hope this icon can blend well when placed on battle map... As a further option, I will make a "vanilla" type icon, with just the figures only. Stay tuned!

And then, perhaps a better looking variant of the previous icon... I reduced the size of the forefront scenery, making the figures to be more visible against the background, and also they will obscure a smaller part of the map hex where the icon is placed... Also I plan to release an icon of a staff transport vehicle, to give those officer some means of traveling along the battlefield

Too toys-looking, for my vision.

May be something in this style ...

Yes, after all, the figures were made from scale model figures
As I said, those icons were "experimental"... I just made them because a found a nice little image of a model vignette that was practically "calling" to be converted in a PzCorps icon. It may be possible, at the end, that those icons will not be used because they will not blend well with other units. Also, as I already said, I will make a HQ icon showing only the figures, similar in type to the example you uploaded (which I don't like much, because it has its flaws, for example the shadows are not looking right). Sometime ago, some good HQ icons were uploaded, which used a large tent and some other elements... I think I can also get some inspiration on those, too.
Thanks for the feedback!

As now many of us are with the attention focus on the forthcoming PzCorps 2, I still remember to visit this old thread and to upload some stuff... This time, a very late, hard hitting but "What if?" fictional unit... The JagdPanzer E-100 Krokodil... Here is a SE camouflaged version, in the direct and indirect fire modes, also a big unit portrait is included... Regrettably, because of icon field size limits I had to make the gun barrel considerably shorter, in order not to have to make the hull too small...

Enjoy!

Wow, I never heard of that prototype.
The unit looks fantastic (as always). Maybe you could add a mask in the future?.
Thanks for keeping your amazing thread alive. PC1 still has to offer its last breath this year
Best regards,
Akkula.

Hello Horacio!!! Thanks as always for your support, and again, my congratulations for your release of Modern Conflicts v1.0!!
Yes, that was a JagdPanzer paper project based on the hull of the prototype built E-100 heavy panzer. I did this quick work because I found an internet image that was asking in a loud voice to be included as a PzCorps icon... Of course, I will make a basic grey icon and its mask to allow any player to paint it with the camo scheme he likes more. This beast had a 170 mm high velocity gun, a bit of an overkill for anything that could be found on the battlefield those days, but still, a good and menacing looking machine...
On the other hand, I have a strong feeling that this year will not be the one that we will say goodbye to good old PzCorps1. At least, it will be kept alive in my computer hard disk and in this thread for a much longer time... I will make that effort for as long as good fellows like you stop by from time to time

Even if Panzer Corps 2 offers everything we could wish for, Panzer Corps is still a good game which is relatively easy to add campaigns, to add extra units and tweak unit stats. I suspect it will last for a while - and possibly for so long that I actually finish my French Mod.
The huge library of unit icons (to which you have contributed a lot of good work) includes enough possibilities to keep many Panzer Corps users happy for a long time.

As for date of release of PzC 3D, I stake on 2019, not earlier. Anyway we have enough time for fun with PzC.
And Big Gun like E-100 looks the terrifying and impressive force.
But what about small icons, guille ?
Can you make movements type icons for Paratroops and Hiding movements ?

Guys: Don't bother about what was possible to download from that ages old link... Most of the files in it are at present outdated. As soon as possible I will make a new "grand pack" with all the released units and update the link...

Hello Yrfin! Thanks for your nice words! Even that small icons are not what I'm used to make, I will try to help you with them. Just give me some indications about your ideas about those new movement types icons, and I will see what I can do for you...
By the way... I want to say that I think your work on new movement types files are superb!

Hello to all:
As it has been asked for, here is a link to download the complete and updated "Guille's Base Icon, Mask and Finished Icons" collection. Here is the link, also I updated the first post in this thread:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/czr3sv
Inside the big .rar file, you will find two further .rar files: one for base icons and masks, and the other for the finished ("game ready") icons.
Enjoy!!!
