by Kerait
Division E
Kerait (Imperial German with Hungarian allies) defeats Supervark (Anglo-Irish with Irish allies) 62-59
One of the closest matches I've ever played. At the start, the German knights and their retainers advanced aggressively against the Irish, who held a hill. This assault met great success, especially as Hungarian horse archers kept the unprotected Irish infantry in the rough from getting effectively involved in the contest. It looked like the Germans would win early, but while the Germans struggled up the slope, the Irish cavalry wing rolled slowly but inexorably in from the German left. A devastating flanking charge followed, rapidly evening out losses.
It could easily have gone the other way, but ultimately I believe the stolid dismounted German knighthood tipped the scale ever so slightly in the German favour.
Thank you for this great match, Supervark!

Interesting battle with good performance of Hungarian light cavalry. The English were forced to attack in unfavorable conditions with the enemy behind. Thanks for a good game.

Division B
Triarii - Teutonic 1226-1319 AD with Polish allies defeats Challenge1 - German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD with Free Canton allies 61-53
With half a dozen German units rallying and others clinging on in desperate situations (occasionally while fragmented) until autobreak a substantial Teutonic league was whittled right away and a draw became a definite possibility - good game.

My Opponent set up well in a strong position with woods on either side, populated with masses of light troops. Despite an early foray by the Byzantians my opponent refused to come out an play! An honourable bottom of the table draw!

by Karvon
Division C
Karvon - Scots 851-1051 AD with Viking 790-899 AD allies defeated ulysisgrunt - Frankish 751-887 AD with Breton 580-931 AD allies 63-37 for a 4-0 win.
A large forest with large rough extending beyond it lay on our right center. We initially deployed a large body of Viking huscarls and heavy spear just to the left of this. Our token force of cavalry and light horse covered the open left flank. A large body of medium spear were placed in and behind the forest on our right. Our light foot screened our spears and extended across the forest. The Franks deployed a mix of infantry in their center with a few horse on their left and a larger number massed on the more open right. As they didn't have much in the way of medium foot, our plan was to shift our heavy foot and horse to our right behind and then around the forest and rough and attempt to envelop the enemy left. Our medium spears would secure the forest and rough, covering the left flank of our heavy spears.
The Franks cautiously advanced their infantry, but then some began to wheel to their left when they saw the direction my heavy foot were heading, while a few pressed on. These heavy foot attempted to encircle a medium spear I had in a patch of forest securing the left end of the larger nearby woods. This unit went into square, tying up several of his heavy foot. Their right wing cavalry swept forward and after my shifting center and a few dropped off to probe/screen off the woods. I dropped off a couple of spears as a rear guard to block the way past the forest once most of my troops had passed and some of my lights came back and harassed his horse from the safety of the woods.
The battle along the edge of the forest and neighboring rough between my medium spears and his mix of some medium and heavy foot, supported by a couple of horse was a drawn out affair, but the arrival of my heavy spear to support and envelop made the end result inevitable. My blocking forces held off or destroyed his horse attempting pursue my heavies and the foot that was engaged with my lone square were flanked and routed by reinforcements drawn from the larger forest.
