Tough battle. My Hungarians stayed victorious on the battlefield, however utterly exhausted.

Blagrot - Carthage (Hannibal in Italy) 216-203 BC with Samnite allies beat doomben - Gallic 300-101 BC with Samnite allies 61% - 52%
The Carthagian mediums took control of a large rocky hill the warbands were strangely reluctant to enter while the heavies held the centre and the cavalry the right, at least in theory, mostly the cav and heavies died in impact rounds against warbands and gaullish cav and the mediums made a decent effort that ended with most of them running away back onto the hill. Nonetheless my intrepid troops rallied on the hill where no-one could get them and watched as the "elephant of swift and horrific death to all gauls everywhere" earned it's name with the help of a few cheerleaders covering it's flanks. Thanks for the game and apologies for the psycho elephant.

Withdrawing bowmen and horse archers separated the legions from the weaker Spanish foot. Cataphracts struck while the iron was hot.

Aetius39 (Byzantine) defeats paulmcneil (Gothic) 60-39
Both sides had a lot of bow units either from lights or cavalry, and each army damaged the other greatly with them. The Byzantines managed to come out a little better, although it was a tough, grinding match. GG!

Congratulations, you were a strong player. Losing to the eventual winner has softened the humiliation of my Round 1 exit.
