Thanks again to everyone who has responded to my PM's in the last couple of days. It is such a big tournament now that your information helps me to keep on top of things and sort out any problems. The overall situation is very, very good and I expect match completion to be in the high 90% by the deadline. There are a couple of issues for me to sort out, which I am doing now and hopefully I will be able to resolve them quickly so that players are not kept waiting unnecessarily.

With 7 wins and a draw from his 8 matches so far, including a thumping win against challenger harveylh in the decisive match, LuciusSulla with his Achaemenid army is the new champion of the Classical Antiquity section. Well played LuciusSulla.

Very interesting, I think it's the first time Achaeminds did this good in division A? Congratulations!

I have had a look in the archive to answer this question . . .

Season 1 - winners were Indian (pre-nerf); Achaemenid Persians came third with 5-2-2 record (NikiforosFokas).
Season 2 - winners were Hannibal in Africa; Achaemenid Persians came fifth with 4-0-5 record (ruskicanuk).
Season 3 - winners were Ptolemaic; Achaemenid Persians came fourth with 6-0-3 record (klayeckles).
Season 4 - winners were Seleucid; Achaemenid Persians came fifth with a 6-0-3 record (pantherboy).
Season 5 - winners were Lysimachid; Achaemenid Persians came second with 8-0-1 record (klayeckles)
Season 6 - winners were Antigonid; Achaemenid Persians not selected.
Season 7 - winners were Macedonian; Achaemenid Persians came sixth with a 3-2-4 record (dkalenda). Corrected.
Season 8 - winners were Hannibal in Africa; Achaemenid Persians not selected.
Season 9 - winners were Pontic; Achaemenid Persians were not selected.
Season 10 - winners were Achaemenid Persians with a 7-1-0 record with 1 match remaining (LuciusSulla).

So it is very interesting. When they have been picked they have always finished in the top half of the table and in Season 5 came very close to winning the division. But since then they have not been picked at all until this season. Their overall record in the A division is 36-3-14, which is pretty impressive really!

I’ve finished my season. Thanks to all my opponents for the good games. Looking forward to next season particularly High Middle Ages.

Slitherine has announced coming soon "Reconquista." The first DLC of Field of Glory II: Medieval brings the battles related to the Middle Ages in South West Europe. There will be 20 more nations and factions covering Spain, Italy and North Africa from 1040 AD to 1270 AD so High Middle Ages should be even more fun and competitive in Season 11.
