Yes, the Colonel did a superior job of scrubbing. I would be surprised if you uncover any bugs, but if you do, please don't hesitate to communicate them here. (Suggestions for improvement at this point, though, will be looked upon with a jaundiced eye. ) Enjoy.

Any plans for core units, and maybe specialisations and/or commanders in the near future?

The Free France Campaign is very long with its 24 scenarios... It could be divided into at least 2 parts ?
What do you think are the best scenarios for this campaign ?

Answer to the first two questions: There will be no further improvements to this campaign; only bug fixes.

I will leave the third question to the Colonel, if he cares to comment. He has the most extensive experience of actual gameplay.

Related to the 1st question: Anyway, if there were "only" a few more units, it wouldn't add much to what has already been accomplished.

Now to the 2nd question: Well, I don't see what concrete gain there would be in dividing the campaign into two (or more ) parts... Indeed, even if the campaign may be relatively long, someone who is interested in it will play it all... and thus finish it sooner or later, even if it has been divided into several parts. So, why should we even bother about this?


As for the last question, the one about which scenarios I prefer: Sorry, but I don't know if I can really answer that question, since there are so many scenarios there that I find really excellent. Afterwards, as often, part of the answer would be linked to a "it depends" because it is. Yes, because if some scenarios put more emphasis on one element, others on another... all these scenarios are very complete, very immersive, but also varied from one to another... therefore...

So I'm not (really) answering the question, if it was actually a question of advising to play some of the scenarios rather than others ... My advice would be rather to play them all, so that everyone can get a better idea. So, what could be better than playing the entire campaign, respecting the chronological order (which is, moreover, much better for immersion anyway)? The campaign may be a bit long, but discovering it is certainly worth it... Even if it's a bit long, there's no rush either.


So, indeed, no further improvement is planed.
And, as there is no (real) rush for the player, taking the time to play entirely this campaign, I'm convinced that would be a (really) good idea.

I want to join the chorus thanking Bru for this excellent campaign. Lots of tough scenarios that tend to be big and long, but I'm enjoying every minute. I've just reached Corsica.

I can see lots of replay value in that many of the scenarios allow different strategic approaches. In Corsica, for instance, should one use the air units to knock out nasty stukas early on or pull them out of M 109 range? Should one push the newly arrived French just to the north, or to the south as well?

I play at the hardest level, so I've had to add turns to some scenarios, but that is all.

Erik and Bru have changed my life. I don't know what it would be like without them.

Heh, what chorus? That sound of crickets chirping when it comes to contemplating my stuff? Erik's threads are constantly at the top of the board, while my Bru's Scenarios linger in the forum dust bin. Crickets, I tell you! "Chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp."

I've finished all the scenarios finally and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are a couple that are literally impossible to win at the most advanced level, such as D-Day bit, but maybe that should be. This is what I enjoyed the most:

It illustrated a part of history I knew little about. There aren't many OoB games that aren't about battles I know about, but almost all of this is. Most of WWII is written from the British, American, Russian perspectives, so the French tend to go out of the picture after Darfur. As the campaign often points out, the French were too quickly dismissed. And yet, it was their great Civil War, and their devotion to beating the Germans stood out. I learned so much. But more. This campaign honors France in a way little else does, and that needs to be done. I am grateful for that.

Other interesting things were:

Scenarios are big. Good for long fall nights. One long campaign is just fine. Units preset, which is a bit more realistic. No branching, which to tell the truth, I do not like that much because it is easy to miss a scenario, so forces me to go back and play each branch. and more.

So Bru, again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Finally I finished the campaign. The scenarios were challenging and I learned something new about WW II (those forgotten african campaings...I plan to buy a book about it).

Thank you, Bru and ColonelY for your great work. Haven´t you guys think about making any battles from this campaign for multiplayer too? Maybe?
