I first ran into eric several months ago when he picked up my mirrored match of Pyrrhic vs Roman. He mentioned that he had just started playing FoGII, but had played fair amount of FoGI. What followed was two close, thrilling games, and I knew then and there that we had a new Division A player on our hands!

Quite a game. Well played. The Lithuanian infantry won their flank and eventually the day as the English knights and sergeants did major damage to the Lithuanian cavalry.

Stew101 (Numidians) beat Aetius39 (Pyrrhic with Samnite Allies). Score 50 - 22.

Another cracking game with Aetius.
The Greeks had the best of the game in the centre, but the imitation legionaries held long enough and mostly rallied when broken.
On the Greek left the Numidians got the upper hand and eventually overcame the Greek flank defenders to overcome this flank.
On the Greek right, the Numidians committed to a skirmish and contain policy.
This included the now infamous 'Numidian Gambit', the sacrifice of a heavy cavalry unit to slow the Greek advance.
This nearly backfired, when the cavalry were charged by a pike unit, which then overcharged twice in the same turn and smashed right into the heart of the defences, brushing units out of their way.
It would all have been so very different, but for a Numidian elephant unit on this flank, which turned the tide. The elephant was fragmented, but its opponents broke and it rampaged forward, taking out another couple of Greek units.
This one really could have gone the other way, by at least the same score.

Well deserved victory. I remember I played a game or two against you thinking you were a beginner and I was soon out of my depth.

Thanks CWS. It's my 5th month of playing. I think our games were quite close but I have been playing ancients on and off for nearly 30 years using different rulesets. Winning this and LA was a surprise for me, not being relegated was my priority. Also doing well has probably proven I am a good player and confirms stockwellpete's decisions to place me in the higher divisions as being correct.
