The cavalry clash was decided not by mailed proto-knights but by persistant rear charges by the Andalusian light horse, the Norman crossbows were tied up on muslim foot and the low hill the muslim spears were perched on was enough of an edge to hold back the dismounted lancerswhile a couple of units got in to posistion for flank charges. Thanks for the game

A classic pike vs legion encounter. The pilum didnt disrupt any pike on impact so the pikes won thanks to the cavalry just holding on to the flanks. Thanks for a good game

The Vikings were ravaged by the Rus's allied horse archers and light troops, but their superior infantry managed to prevail against the Rus line.

An exciting game and close. I dismounted all my Knights except one (who was quickly shot to pieces by LH) and that made a big difference.

Najanaja - Danish 1200-1319 defeated ahuyton - English 1155-1271 AD with Welsh 1100 allies (1600) 63-46.

Was looking grim for the Danish for most of the game - English knights sweeping round both flanks and the bowmen well positioned on hill. But the spearmen managed to hold on and eventually made contact with the archers.

Morat (Polish) beats Barrold713 (Teutons) 41-13

What was lining up to be a savage scrap, with the Poles anchoring their left on a hill and trying to work round the Teutonic right with cavalry and infantry, finished very fast with a series of breaks in a single turn. Score in no way reflects the battle - which felt much closer throughout.

Early Ostrogoth pressure in the centre took them into an early lead, but the Picts fought back on the flanks and the battle wound up as a series of mini battles across the whole field.
