I don't even know how that happened, probably some ancient druid magic awakened by all that blood spilled in their sacred grove or something.

Does anyone else think that sometimes the scoring cut off at 40% means that a promising and close battle is cut off in its prime. Well this was one of those! A cagey start with both armies repositioning and my opponent being typically annoying (i.e. skill full and effective!) with his light troops. His trap with hidden cavalry failed due to my indecisive and boring approach to the battle. When we finally got to it we were hacking away at each other until a heavy cavalry routed causing a bit of a cascade. My pursuing cav routed a light infantry unit and suddenly it was all over - DW didn't even get the chance to play his turn in response and i didnt really feel i was winning. Well played DW - we will meet again!

Tough matchup for doomben, but he held his ground and was making a strong push to even the affair before some of my cavalry were able to flank his center after fighting off his right flank.

by Aetius39
Division B
Aetius39 (Pyrrhic) draws garymann (Roman) 45-21
At first hopes were low, as the Romans could easily take a hill in front of us, and there was nothing but forest behind the Pyrrhic army. So...they bolted into the forest. After much, much maneuvering, most of the army swung out the right side and up to face the Romans on an angle, while some remained on the original side in the hope of spreading the Romans thin. Not much fighting at all happened the first 18 or 19 turns, but the last few turns were a pitched, fierce battle. The Pyrrhic army got the upper hand, but needed one more turn to finish the job (just one point off!). Kudos to my opponent for denying that, and holding me off. Great, strategic game!
