Battle can be summed up as don't ever estimate large conscripts. All those cheap Wei archer blocks and 16 man conscripts are really effective. Also, don't attack up steep slopes.

Those reluctant Han subjects do better than a pure horse army setup (with the help of terrain of course).
I’m hating my current army list now.

. The Chinese in general are still good at anti-cavalry despite deterioration in quality compared to previous dynasties.
Would love to have those Fubing troops found in the later Northern Dynasties lists.

As always, new players can join at any time, and old players should always feel free to switch realms if they're frustrated with their list or just want a change of pace.

Battle and event summary:
Narbonensis: Even though the Ostrogoths were victorious, their margin of victory was too close against an enemy army to decide the province's dynastic dispute.
Sardinia: The Visigothic raiders were repulsed.
Ostrogothic-allied Tripolitania repulsed the Vandals.
The Wei army looted Ba.
The Liang defeated the Wei in Lu.
In Yemen, the Himyarid expeditionary force fought a bloody battle with the Hadhramautis, and only barely was defeated.
After the Dumnonian defeat, Bernicia remains disputed territory.
The Dumnonians succeeded in placing an allied prince firmly in control of Saxonea.
The Romans failed to conquer Armenia, and it remains disputed territory.
The bedouin of Anbar routed the Roman army, although a pro-Roman prince continues to contest control.
The Guptas routed Huna raiders in Kosala.
The Hunas looted the Sassanid province of Zaranj.
The Pallavas defeated the Gupta-allied armies of Telengana and extracted tribute, then returned home.
A raiding force of Tibetans was met in the mountain passes by a Gupta-allied Nepalese force and repulsed.
The Frankish-allied Moravian hordes were defeated by the Silesians, but have not yet broken up and may migrate further.
RANDOM EVENTS:
A Visigothic-allied pretender has risen to challenge the pro-Dumnonian dux of Armorica.
The Wei find a very distant ally as a confederation of nomads on the Syr Darya decide to seek a new homeland.
The Himyarids and Gepids are beginning to make names from themselves locally, but none of their neighbors has yet sought a permanent alliance.

Hi. A few questions.
Belligerents in the previous turn’s battles (Wei and Liang) disappeared? Victors lost too much and had to disband as well?
What to do with distant allies? May be some blood relatives that migrated far during the nomadic Xianbei era before establishment of Northern Dynasties.

Armies demobilize if they are defeated OR if they take 40%+ damage in enemy territory. As always when armies demobilize, you get refunded the resources.
This rule has a couple purposes, but a major one is to give players a bit of a respite if they have enemy client states nipping at their frontiers, even if they can't defeat it in battle outright.
The horde could be one of your distant relatives, or maybe one of the Chinese princesses sent out into the steppe to marry managed to get her son nominated as khan.
Hordes are a bit of a gamble. If you can settle them they form a client state, sometimes even on enemy territory. That client state will quickly drift out of your control unless you can trace a communication line through your own territory. So, the best strategy is to raid until it's adjacent to your sphere of influence, then settle.
Hordes have their own resources and can often survive one or two defeats without disbanding.

Am I correct in understanding that you need an army to intervene in a province? So a faction with no armies cannot launch aggressive attacks?

That is correct. If you want to be sure you can attack, it's usually good to build an army if you have the resources.
However, players who haven't launched any attacks or are doing any defenses can still gain Influence (progress toward an event) by taking on an NPC in one of the NPC vs NPC fights.

Nice mechanic. It will be a long migration based on where they start. Would be interesting.

So the fighting between China’s northern and southern dynasties interrupted by unruly nomads and tribal kingdoms. A messy situation. Lots of battles to fight.
I will play Yarlug against Liang with kongxinga.
Not sure if he will take the Yujiulu side of the Wei battles.
Omg. I have Avars to play too. But no worries. I can play them simultaneously.
