Also a change I think it would be nice regarding them is that if that they are placed on hills they also should have the High ground POA. Or would it be unrealistic?
Tks!
I hope so:
palisades
camps
ability to assign allied BG's
all should be avaiable in the scenario editor( i consider that they arnt, bugs)
deploying palisades - if they not working in current FoG(RB) editor/code (are they, or not?), then they will be added/fixed if we'll have enough time for extra FoG(RB) things like these
camps - what do you mean by this?
ability to assign allied BG's - what do you mean by this?
palisides: they are not available to place in a scenario in the current editor
camps: in DAG battes you either have a regular camp or a fortified camp , if "sacked" you lose 2 BreakPoints 's or 10% of you BP's whichever is higher also not available in the curent editor
allied generals: in the dag if you purchase an ally the allied commander ONLY influences allied troops for cohesion tests and double moves(when in command range) Non allied commanders you purchase and the CnC dont influence the allied troops either
the current editor has a the UI set up to add allied generals and corresponding allied troops but it doesnt work
**note: Ericdomain has indicated that the allied general feature in the DAG is currently bugged the double move portion works but allied generals influence non allied troops for cohesion tests and vice versa**

Also in the scenario editor that has never worked is the "default retreat direction" feature for each BG - this would make a big difference to us scenario designers if BG's would retreat to the edge of the map nearest to where they started instead of moving to its own baseline.

Yes. Now that jdm has said Q1 for the new FOG there will definitely be time for another season of LOEG before it comes out. Eric is back on his computer on Monday, I believe so he will have to decide then.

Yes looks like we wont see the new FOG this year

I would rather that the Developer takes the time to get it right rather than rush it through. So hopefully we can get another LOEG happening to tide us over till the Release of the new FOG.

I was wondering whether with the new Field of Glory (U) we will be able to import DAG created army lists directly into the editor.
This feature would greatly aid the designing of new scenarios while probably creating little problems to the programmers in order to make it possible (or, at least, i hope so!)

I agree on importing DAG armies into editor and Hotseat DAG.
I also would like to see proper 16:9 HD support (no more hobbit armies!), and if possible to have historic and custom battles displayed together in the select menu, just for the "I have every battle of ancient history!!!" effect.
104 days left and counting...

If it's possible to make some changes in the graphics I would like the grid to be in a lighter gray so it's no to conspicuous. And also, if the terrain could be made in a bit less saturated colours, the troops would stand out better.
I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I think it would make the game even more enjoyable.

If they could make the terrain graphics/ elevation graphics consistant in 3d isometric I would be SUPER happy ( currently elevation is oddly pure top down vs 3d iso. for trees etc...)
Am I the only person that is bothered by this??

Let me as a new player to FOG-A PC see if I have this right.
1) The entire game is being recoded in a contemporary language/system?
2) It will be backwards compatible (in the sense that an updated engine will be offered to previous users)?
3) Then the other army list books will be completed in the new engine?
Therefore (4) I can go back to encouraging my old wargaming friends to go out and buy the present FOG-A PC game AND promise them an even better future game?
Cool.
Any chance this new approach can be used to get FOG-R to the PC later?
Thanks,

Yes everything you bought will be upgraded to the new version for free so if you have PC you'll get the new PC and if you had Mac you'd get the new Mac version.
If we later add iPad versions etc those wont be free

Guys,
Regarding the FoG(U), I've already told you before the interface was streamlined and improved, so that it would be much easier and pleasant to use.
And yes, unfortunately the release will be next year as we've moved slower than we've anticipated (mostly due to uncontrollable circumstances, complexity of the project and the improvements we're adding into it).
Yet, that shouldn't worry you too much, as we'll get into the beta phase soon enough. It's just a matter of weeks at this point. And as far as I know, Iain was mentioning something about the possibility of a semi-public beta, ie allowing all FoG(RB) use their own FoG(RB) serial numbers in order to access it and I was definitely agreeing with him
