Battle Report
steve-h8 18/62 tofmam04 55/53
Tofman tried to outflank on both sides at once. With cav & MI on my right through wood, stopped him with HI just outside wood!. On my left the attack also with cav & MI this I stoped with MI & cav by stopping him crossing a river. He tryed to send in a elephant and 2 HI to help, but I cut them off. Then I did a mass attack in the middle & that was that.

slowly, very very slowly, trying to whittle down the massive bow shooting scurrying away mounted forces that my slow lumbering pikes must face. Have managed to catch a few of the rapid running little buggers and killed them but at present Deadtolomey is in arrears as far as killing goes, but I have managed to pin some others down so hope to be adding to the list of dead enemy next turn.

The oliphants blared as the cataphracts on the left wing swung wide of the ponderous pike phalanx stuck in the marshes , the parthian bowmen having boxed them in and attrited them, With the vaunted Phyrric cavalry scattered and several turns from getting back into battle due to the numerous lights hindering their movement, it is only a matter of turns before the cats can get guaranteed rear hits on the phalanx and call it a day.... or at least that is what the Parthian General was dreaming of before being awakened by his aide de camp.... Still no enemy in sight, although there was a faint smell of haggis in the air? Perhaps soon the battle would be joined.....

Ah tis true that Hannibal has proven victorious (which supports my theory that he was the greatest Ancient general), but I was looking at this holistically and I am interested to see how individual battles go and also interested to see who comes third and who wins the wooden spoon (does that British saying translate?).

Ptolemy v Ptolemy. Pretty straighforward battle so far. Both sides have sent their MF into the woods on the right flank, Hannibals MF are better armed than the Pyrrhus ones and are beating the enemy back. In the center the pike phalanxes have just crashed into each other with minor casulties on both sides. Pyrrhus has sent a flanking force of lancers and elephant to try to turn the Hannibal pike flank but Hannibal has countered this with an equal number of lancers and elephants.

The Kraken vs Triarius got underway on Wednesday.
So far only light troops have been lost and relatively equal - unfortunately play will stop for 5 days as I am away until the 19th.

Pyrrhus has managed to punch a hole in the middle of the enemy pike phalanx that is desparately being countered with poor pike and galatian reserves. On both flanks however, the Pyrrhus forces are crumbling and the Hannibal forces are starting to see exposed enemy flanks!

Ptolemy keeps chasing fleeing horse archers that led to some interesting encounters with cats, caught one in the rear so he started impact down and went disrupted.
On the other flank I am making some room to cross a stream and start wading into the MF troops the Chehan set out for me to kill for him. the lakes in the middle of the map are not working out as originally hoped but what can you do?
Continuing to slaughter my way through the map, the sky not quite as dark with arrows. At present I think we are even score 14 points apiece.
