While most of the Chinese army is training with robot dogs and drones, the situation on the border with India is looking more and more like the Middle Ages.

Because of the ban on firearms on the Aksaiching High Line of Control, the military has to find other solutions. Chinese soldiers are developing armour that protects against clubs, cold weapons and even stones, as well as creating modern versions of ancient weapons.

The ban on the use of firearms and explosives in high altitude areas within the 2km zone of contact between China and India is based on 1993 and 1996 agreements that were made to artificially contain escalation but leave the ability to defend national borders.

The conflict goes back to the past - when the British, along with Tibet, drew the borders without Chinese involvement.
