Hello Generals,
I want to say how grateful and thankful I am for you all to be subscribed to this mod. It is always a pleasure working on it, even though at times LUA and scripting the AI can be very frustrating.
I have two pieces of good news, the open beta for 1939's massive rework is proceeding well. A lot of bugs have been ironed out and scenarios have been pretty well balanced. I will still have to create and finish the planned second path for Italian scenarios.
I've taken a little bit of a break or distraction from 1939 and created a tutorial campaign for Storm Over Europe. This campaign is very similar in ways to Grondel's Panzer 1 Grand Campaign remake. It goes over changes to units, new systems introduced into Storm Over Europe. Eagle eyed observers may notice the scenarios take place in Berlin, in Kiel, and then at Hamburg. Two of the maps having been created for 1940 Part 2.
This 4 scenario tutorial will provide the player a new hero, and 3 options for cores that can be carried over into the Spanish Civil War. You will have a choice between an Infantry, Panzer, or Luftwaffe based unit. Infantry will receive better starting artillery weapons. The Panzer unit will have better starting panzers; while the Luftwaffe based unit will have better starting aircraft. The new hero will be tailored to the core a player chooses.
This new "tutorial" campaign is called "Before the Storm" and is completely optional.

A look at the Panzer unit that is available as option as a core. You will have a chance to review the units and cores before acquiring them.
This tutorial campaign will be released on Steam, most likely as part of the 1939 rework release.

You do not have to replay SCW if you don't want to.
However, the tutorial campaign offers a fresh start for SCW. This will unlock further options in 1939 and 1940 - mostly a handful of unique equipment to start the campaign. This feature has been dubbed the Core Initial Equipment Bonus (CIEB). For example if you choose the Luftwaffe core in the tutorial campaign, you will receive 50 Bf 109Es, 35 Ju87Rs, and 15 Ju88As to start 1939. You will still receive the same rewards as other cores throughout the campaign, but this is your bonus for choosing the Luftwaffe.
Infantry for example in 1939 receive 50 105mmleFH18m, 35 15cmsFH36, and 15 50mmPak38.
Panzer receives 50 SdKfz232-8Rad, 35 PanzerIID, and 15 PanzerIII/IV Ausf A (this is a new unit, a theoretical early production model of the standardized III/IV).

I'll definitely replay and go with Luftwaffe. which core did you prefer? the Panzer options are intriguing also?

You will get a chance at the last scenario of the tutorial campaign to review the stats. The cores are displayed on the map and you can compare units there before making a decision.

Outside of testing the core system to make sure it works, I haven't sat down at replayed SCW yet. That is one of the things I'm going to do over winter break. This core system to me is designed around replayability, as each core will bring unique equipment [and I wish I could add traits] to the campaign.

great engineering and foresight! I wish when Heroes are granted/earned during the Campaigns, there were more loke Rudel where you could choose between different traits to customize/personalize the Hero. still on schedule for the December 19 rollout? many thanks for an early Christmas present!

So far, so good. Just wrapping up final testing.

Steam will auto-update the current SOE Redux. I've given the files over to RickKessler to upload.

Steam is apparently having issues - cannot access the mod's workpage and discussion. It's happening in a lot of other game's libraries also.

Issues have been resolved and should be available for download via Steam.

downloaded fine. but I'm encountering a problem with only being able to Overstrength 3 units even though I put several units in reserve to have the slots available? this includes having the One Zero Slot Hero Banner from the prelims. I'm definitely not playing on No Overstrength and I did not select the 3 additional Heroes option.

same thing with Infantry Hero as with Luftwaffe Hero. bet when it was uploaded to Steam they accidently made the overstrength 3 units max standard?
