Please note
- The attacker (first player above) advises to the defender (second player above) whether to use allies (and then which allies).
- The defender creates the challenge in the FoG2 Multiplayer Lobby, always with himself as Side B (in order for the other player to immediately be able to deploy and make first round when accepting the challenge).
- In order to create a challenge with An Empire in Flames armies, after having launched New Challenge and Create Skirmish, press Select Another Module and therein An Empire in Flames v3, which will make the An Empire in Flames armies available.
- All battles (whether Conquests or Raids) take the form of:
- Large (1600 FP) force size (adjusted for Roman factions by their players' current FP Penalties in Conquest battles, as specified above in the respective battles)
- Map type as specified in the rules (and on the map) for each province.
- No map re-rolls will be made.
- The faction routing the enemy or killing the enemy's C-in-C is considered the victor. If neither faction routs the enemy or kills the enemy's C-in-C, it is considered a draw.
- Battle outcome, once resolved, is posted by the winner, or the player having inflicted the most casualties, in a post in the campaign thread.
- Please conclude the battles within a five-week period, i.e., no later than December 31.
And
- In this seventh round three additional provinces (i.e., four provinces in total) will be taken control of by the victor (if any) in a Conquest battle.
- This will be in addition to any further additional provinces for the victor if killing his enemy C-in-C in the Conquest battle.

2a. Conquest: kronenblatt (Romans V, 1500 FP) versus Geffalrus (Romans III, 1575 FP) in IX Noricum. North European Agricultural.
Victory for the beleaguered Pannonian Legions facing the geographically displaced Palmyran Legions, 28 to 58. Tough battle, but the Pannonian cavalry was able to catch the Palmyran horse in the open before the Palmyran archers could overwhelm the Pannonian auxiliaries. Alas, the Palmyran Emperor escaped a tough melee despite the best/worst intentions of the Gothic foederati.
2b. Raid: Geffalrus (Franks, 1600 FP) versus kronenblatt (Romans V, 1600 FP) in I Britannia. North European Agricultural.
Meanwhile in the west, the Franks stole some British wool despite eating the Palmyran legion's entire supply of arrows. No Palmyran soldiers were hurt during this encounter. The Frankish warchief was heard saying - "that's more wool for the rest of us, boys!" Franks lost 14%, Romans lost 0%

1b. Raid : Aetius39 (Iazyges, 1600 FP) versus Geffalrus (Romans III, 1600 FP) in X Pannonia. Steppe.
Geffalrus and the thoroughly exhausted Pannonian legions defeat the Iazyges for like the 12th time, 58-24. Will these raids ever end? Will there ever be peace?

1a. Conquest: Aetius39 (Romans IV, 1600 FP) versus kronenblatt (Romans V, 1500 FP) in XXIX Africa. Desert.
=> kronenblatt defeats Aetius39 41-29, due to Aetius39's C-in-C falling in battle (1st time).

Battle status as of my turn today. We have cinc's in combat with each other and our lines just clashed. Dice are chaotic as usual because RBS thinks 2% odds of happening means it needs to happen more often than 70% odds:

Ah, so you two agreed on having your C-in-C's fight it out, as part of a duel?

I immediately sent in some lancers to flank and ensure the kill, but because FoG2 is a chaos factory at the best of times, Aeitus's cinc survived despite the unit routing and fleeing. Meanwhile my cinc led cav has since auto-pursued into one bad situation after another, so I have plenty of more chances to lose.

Ha ha! What a cliffhanger...

3a. Conquest: Geffalrus (Romans III, 1575 FP) versus Aetius39 (Romans IV, 1600 FP)
Geffalrus is victorious with a score of 52-12
My original usurper emperor's sister's cousin's second grandson has stepped in to right what once went wrong and managed to restore the fortunes of the fading Center faction with three straight victories. Despite some wacky luck on both sides, and a cinc who seemed determined to get into melee whenever possible, the Pannonian infantry held up under heavy assault while the auxilia horde worked their way into flanking positions and exploit some nasty marsh terrain to muddy up a legionary assault.
Good game to Aetius.

- kronenblatt gains 5 of Aetius39's provinces.
- Geffalrus gains 4 of Aetius39's provinces and 4 of kronenblatt's.
- I Britannia becomes looted, with kronenblatt's FP reduced by 25 FP.
- Geffalrus can't be raided by Iazyges next round.
I've allocated provinces to get nice and smooth borders.
kronenblatt (11 provinces, 1475 FP, 0 C-in-C's fallen in battle)
Geffalrus (10.5 provinces, 1575 FP, 3 C-in-C's fallen in battle)
Aetius39 (4.5 provinces, 1600 FP, 1 C-in-C's fallen in battle)

Round VIII (274-276 AD): attack declarations
Posted: Wed Feb 07, 2024 8:20 pm
by kronenblatt
Attack declarations (order based on number of controlled provinces and then FPs)
- kronenblatt (11 provinces, 1475 FP, 0 C-in-C's fallen in battle): February 8.
- Geffalrus (10.5 provinces, 1575 FP, 3 C-in-C's fallen in battle): February 9.
- Aetius39 (4.5 provinces, 1600 FP, 1 C-in-C's fallen in battle): February 10.
Please note
- No Raid attacks by Iazyges upon any of Geffalrus's provinces are allowed this round.
- The attack declaration should be made in a post in the campaign thread on the forum.
- There are two types of attacks (Conquest and Raid).
- Players are each round required (if possible) to declare one Conquest attack but can decide whether to also declare one Raid attack that round.
- A player’s Conquest and Raid attacks in a round cannot be made upon one and the same Roman faction but must be made upon two different Roman factions.
- Example on how to express an attack declaration:
- Conquest: kronenblatt attacks rs2excelsior's Italia (XIII) from Raetia (VII).
- Raid: Franks attack Germania Inferior (IV) from homelands.
- Raid: Franks attack from Germania Inferior (IV). (this normal raid attack requires Germania Inferior (IV) to have already been successfully raided and thus looted by the Franks.)
- (Sea) Raid: Goths attack Macedonia (XVII) from homelands. (sea raid attacks are always made from Goths' homelands.)
- Date (midnight CET (Rome) time) above indicates deadline, after which opportunity for you to declare attack is forfeited and the player next in line may declare his attack.
- Once you have declared an attack, please PM the player next in line, who will then be free to declare his attack, up to his deadline, so we all don't need to wait for each player's deadline.
