Interesting topic about Lybian oil fields! Although without capturing Malta and dominance over the main Mediterranean see, it couldn't be transported to Europe. I like TIK, so much eyeopening informations from him! The most interesting one was about the oil crisis - this way, why I advised McGuba to somehow implement it in the game. IMHO the crisis still not have such effects as in the reality, but some people find already this mod too hard, so maybe it should not be made more harder.

I once played v2.0 with, custom settings, where after autumn 1941 every motorised unit suffered 4 fuel loss/per turn. This gave that effect, what the Germans suffered probably, but with that effect, the game become really hard. The only chance is to capture the Caucasus very-very fast. I could make it, after several tries, but "Do not try this at home, kids!"
I use the Elephant N of Voronezh W of the bridge. With heavy air protection and in the winter with arty support too. In that way, it is possible to avoid strenght loss (although I had still reload several times, when I thought it is enough defended, but it was not enough...) and the vehicle could be used as it's best.
Plymouth is not a major hex anymore, volks in v2.0.

So probably the best way if you want the invason 42+ on to attack from the North. I could do this with the Stalingrad save, but with the Kursk save you cannot be fast enough to avoid d-day. When we start from the beginning, I think the best methode is still to try the invasion in the winter of 41, probably from S-SW.

Yes, maybe... it takes years to build ships...
They had enough already for the attack, not as many as British, but enough to attempt, also there could be an easy local air superiority to bomb them in 1941
Maybe... I may not know enough about it but I think the UK had the strongest fleet at that point in time, not only in the Med but globally as well, i.e. due to the British Empire and the Commonwealth... not even to count for the US at all at this point in time...

Interesting discussion this one

Is about what if scenarios, which generally I really read about, hence the interest

Ah ok, yes the victory objective was moved from Plymouth for this reason, yes...

I see a possibility there, because most of Italy's fleet was staying at ports because the lack of fuel. So with an active Regia Marina and with the capture of Malta and much more focus on the Mediterrean, it would maybe possible. Although I would say, still the most of N Africa should have been held for it, so takink Alexandria, Cairo and maybe the coast till Casablanca would have been needed.

This is my point, why use the Elephant at all? It needs support from ground and from air, is slow, needs lots of maintenance also...
I used it in Moscow for a while, but quickly needed repairs, fuel, ammo everything, so I return it to Prague...
With this money I can invest in StuGs, one my favorite units, in 43, 44 in my Manstein playthrough, very efficient in terms of kills.

Thrust me: there is so much fun in this mod (...but with dice chess only...)! OK and a tremendeous time can be also consumed with it...
And with every update there are always new, interesting features!
I play it with Rommel diff (half prestige) always, except the Normandy save. Played for Speed game to make a DV until turn 50 (it is not anymore possible since v2.0). So there are many possibilities! Not to mention the multiplayer........

Better ask him how often he has played the mod already... or how many 100x hours he has played it... or if he knows all the units, all the hexes, all the AI zones, all the triggers, all the turns and anything else by hard
Uhu knows this mod best...

As for the Elefant I would highly recommend watching the related Tankchat episode on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqoFbkdEnpw
Interestingly in the video the presenter came to the very same conclusion like you: although impressive on paper, in practice it was too expensive, to unreliable, too slow and ultimately a failure. In reality only 90 were ever produced in one batch and hence the hard unit strength limit in the mod and the astronomical price for overstrength or elite replacements. In order to have more you need to convince the whole German High Command that you need this heavy metal instead of the cheaper and better Tiger I. Perhaps they would need to build a new factory only for that. And it is quite telling when the Tiger I is being seen as the "cheaper" and more reliable alternative to something. Thus I think the Elefant is now being represented in the mod quite accurately.

Really??

Nice!
Than you have to station only a skeleton crew to guard the main Soviet cities, everything else can be transported to the west, because below 4, or 3 main objetives in Soviet hands, nothing will be more produced
The +1 Range 88 AA shall be placed in Bremen, in that way it can reach most of the major cities.
