Trying to host the game challenge, but I'm seeing two army lists for Pyrrhic 280-275, and 274-272, but the post is saying Pyrrhic 280-272.

Which one is it?^^
yes it is the one that starts in 280. Sorry about that, I must have copied that date over from before there were two Pyrrhic lists.

In Round 3, SawyerK leading the Romans defeated Gamercb with the Pyrrhics by 32 to 61. That should be 50+29 or 79 for SawyerK and 32 for Gamercb.

In the reverse match, SawyerK with the Pyrrhics defeated Gamercb's Romans by 44 to 65. That should be 50+21 or 71 for SawyerK and 44 for Gamercb.

Thanks to Schweetness101 for hosting the tournament and to all the players!

Round 3

Tomoegozen (Pyrrhic) defeats batesmotel (Roman) 53-43 (and once again I had forgotten that the game ends at 50%!)

I planned to hold the centre with my pikes , anchored on a large rough hill on my left that I filled with lights and mediums whilst pushing my cavalry around the right to hit the legions in the rear. However....
Some very wily old veteran Triarii on the Roman left chased my cavalry all over the place , eventually sending them packing back where they came from. Fortunately my mediums and lights in the hills smashed the Roman opposition in front them and then forced their way around the Roman right flank achieving the simple task originally allocated to my foppish aristocratic cavalry...

It was close , thanks to batesmotel for a great game.

Once again the mod led to a most convincing infantry slog in the centre :-)

Round 3

batesmotel (Pyrrhic) beat TomoeGozen (Roman) 50-40%

ANother excellent game with a result close to the reverse match although it played out differently. In this game Pyrrhic cavalry got into the Roman rear and barely managed to do enough damage to overcome losses to the Roman legioaires who all seemed to want to fight to the last man.

Thanks for two great games and I think this was the best army matchup of the three so far.

I did have a potential issue show up in this second game vs Chris.
I had a Triarii unit facing an enemy infantry unit with an enemy cavalry unit in its rear. The game would not allow me to turn the Triarii unit such that it only exposed a flank to the cavalry unit saying that it could only do that if it removed a flank threat. Of course in the mod the major threat is from a rear attack not from a flank attack. Maybe this needs to be looked at?

Round 3

Aetius39 (Pyrrhic) defeats edb1815 (Roman) 66-33

Very close and tight game up until the end. In fact, a lot of the units just auto-broke due to the constant fighting and wearing down. Great game to my opponent, it was fun!^^

Aetius39 - 50+33 = 83 points

edb1815 = 33 points

yes, I'd looked at this, but because flanks still get a greater +POA, and are especially dangerous for pikes, I thought that the psychological effect of flank threat should still be present. You could argue it the other way though, or keep the flank threat for morale purposes but not turning purposes.

Aetius39 (Roman) defeats edb1815 (Pyrrhic) 53-42

Real, real tight battle again, even more so than last! Romans managed to gang up on several pikes early on, all the while holding back their cavalry from sweeping around and rear flanking until the very end. Romans had several units fragged and close to auto-break; if one or two Pyrrhic units rallied at the end it could have easily turned into a loss.
Like the last game, great fun playing my opponent, and hope to see him again sometime!^^

Aetius - 50 + 11 = 61 total points

edb1815 = 42 total points

In Round 3, hscic leading the Romans defeated Random27 with the Pyrrhics by 39 to 53. That should be 50+14 or 64 for hscic and 39 for random27.

In the reverse match, hscic with the Pyrrhics defeated Random27's Romans by 10 to 41. That should be 50+31 or 81 for hscic and 10 for Random27.

I probably should have done this awhile ago, but especially at this point I assume no one else is going to submit results. Let me know if anyone out there is still waiting to submit their third game, or if I got any of the numbers wrong, but otherwise this looks like the final result:
