This game can be won on Generalissimus Ironman while constantly doing very basic mistakes. Like parking tanks in cities next to enemy infantry (and hoping 1 defensive arty will help). Or like parking pioniere in the open with enemy tanks nearby (and again hoping 1 defensive arty will help). Proof can be found on youtube 😊

I suggest watching the 2 minute long Slitherine „Tactical Advisor“ clips ob youtube. You will most likely see a few things you do wrong at the moment

Yes, the game is a trap, it gives bad habits to newbs. It's maybe sadistic from devs, doing 3D figures to then make fun of newbs by the campaign.

The same "Insane horrifying result" happened to myself!. So!... therefore... i saw "no-more-point" in continuing on with this useless futile effort.

Instead... i "Restarted" the 'Afrika-Corps' campaign once again... but... 'this time' proceeded to set the difficulty level on the 'Easiest-Setting'... "then!!!"... I no-longer... for what-ever reason had any more issues accruing MPP's/prestige-points...so... then I played the rest of the Campaign... happily on right to the end!.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought the same when I bought PC2 a couple of months ago, but I regarded it as a CHALLENGE and kept coming back to call out the AI rather then let it beat me, and eventually managed to get on top, great fun..:)
Somebody once asked the Italian cycling champion Fausto Coppi what the key to winning was, and he replied "Ride a bike, ride a bike, ride a bike"
Same with wargaming, if we keep on playing and playing and playing we'll eventually know the game inside out and can devise cunning plans to win.

For example here's a screenshot (for noobs) of a random mission I played recently, the German AI hurled a big panzer attack at my Brits down the red arrow, but I easily held them off with just 3- repeat 3- infantry units (white circles) and one 6-pdr portee AT gun (blue circle).
Two of my inf are in cities and the other one is in mountains, but the German armour was very reluctant to attack any of them because it knew that inf in cover have a massive defensive advantage. Also, the AT unit backup made the panzers chicken out of attacking the inf in the city too.

Nowadays I have to use house rules to give the AI some help.
Hey devs- in a future update can you introduce an option into the random generator that allows us to choose terrain density Light/Medium/Heavy so that for example we could choose Light to simulate the open Russian steppes, Medium for typical rolling countryside such as Normandy, and Heavy for such places as the Ardennes?

Terrific suggestion!... and now another small morsel?... if practical at all?... next!.

Artificially creating 'Dust-Clouds'... for the purpose of deception {Best suited for Desert Environments}. SO!!!...in this instance... lets say... where the enemies view of 'a/the' specific region is not possible through regular normal distance observation that "you"... 'the Deceptionist' now desires to either advertise your actual presence for what-ever reason... or instead... to make them believe that you are in their local area when you are actually not... by creating artificial dust clouds "that can be seen"... beyond the normal viewing range!.

Just "order your recon-unit" to 'Create-Dust-Cloud'. That's it!.

I'm 'not positive' that this tactic was used, but... my 'Spidie-Senses'... tells me that it was. I will endeavor to try to do some research on this matter... and then add to this posting if warranted!>

In fact, the Desert Fox still had some tricks up his sleeve in the form of airplane engines and propellers mounted on trucks. These giant wind machines whipped up the desert sands into huge dust clouds, fostering the illusion the entire Panzerarmee Afrika was attacking.

Thank-You!!! "dalfrede"... this is the "2nd-time" that you have saved-the-day for me!.

I could only find some meager minor references to the usage of 'Dust Cloud Deception Tactics' during WWII in 'North Africa'. Doesn't seem to be a 'Worthy WWII Topic'???.
