Also I just noticed that the format is PAL. I know what PAL and NTSC means for DVDs and TV. What does this mean for DS? Will it work in my son's US DS? Oh well, I guess I'll find out for sure in a week or so.

Yes, it will. I purchased the DS version off of eBay UK as well, and it plays on the North American DS. I believe the DSi does implement regional restrictions, but not the DS.
Thank you. That's good to know. I'm sure my 8-year will have hours of fun with this on his DS.

Yes - DS is Nintendo DS. Hope he enjoys it!
If anyone else is enjoying the game please post reviews & comments on places like Amazon or other forums. It's hard to get the message out about this game on DS & PSP especially because there has never been a game like this on DS & PSP, so we're trying to appeal to people who traditioanlly would not have played the DS & PSP.

Tried to on Amazon UK, but they wouldn't let me since I hadn't purchased a product from them. Does eBay UK have a similar feature?

I've been doing my best to splash mention of it all over the wargaming forum world out there if nothing else Ian
In some cases, wargamers can be a stuborn lot. We need to convince our own kind that the DS is actually not just a kiddie machine.
If anyone needs access to a stash of convenient images to advertize the game, this link will provide you a location where both the PC and the DS version have been given a barrage of images of the game's various screen views for comparison purposes.

Just want to thank you guys for making this game for the DS. I was a strict PC gamer, but everything new was moving to real time which I hate. I purchased MHCEAW for the DS from Amazon UK for a fantastic price, and I just love the game. Now that I have your attention, please design a similar game from the Cold War period! Am I the only war gamer who wants to launch a full scale soviet invasion in Europe? The success of the Advance War games shows that this could be a success, they are a little to cartoony for my taste though. I prefer a realistic take, such as Panzer Tactics, another excelent DS game.
Thanks for listening, and designing this game for the DS system.

Ian was telling me in an email conversation that retail simply wasn't making DS releases viable.
Guys, we need to make ourselves heard in retail, stock our damn games. Make it known, that as most of us are parents, either we get dad's games, or our kids dollars walk when we do.

Is this the same as Commander: Europe at War gold? when I look at it, it appears to be the same.

Just got mine for the PSP at Dick Smiths BNE (Oz) for $19.95 ... which is REAL money these days (check the exchange rates). Top game Mr Slitherines.
For those of you with a PSP, it is worthwhile loading the new Comic Book Reader.
