Thanks for feedback. I'm not 100% happy with all sounds either, and will try to improve things. Just need the post-release dust to settle down a bit.
So, uhm... how is it going with this?

IMHO the sounds in game are kinda bad, maybe should just use the authentic sounds recorded from real WWII armament, vehicle and equipments like many new WWII games(For example the Gates of Hell,Hell let loose etc.).

It has been a long time since this topic was brought up. Unfortunately nothing has changed since then. Movement and battle sounds are much too quiet and undifferentiated compared to music, UI and also to PC1 and OOB!
For me it is even more important to correct that than the next DLC.

I definitely agree about the in game combat sounds, very weak compared to previous Panzer games. Battleships firing their guns sound like pop guns. This needs to be fixed I think.

I would also appreciate if there would be some update. The sounds are so appaling in comparison to the graphics. Every time I hear bombers, ships, Stukas - it sounds like someone is rattling a tin bin.

IMO worst sounds are tanks and other vehicules movement sounds and Navy movement, fire and hit.
I agree that’s the biggest matter of PC2

...I for my part would be even glad to hear the Jericho siren with my Stukas...but it seems that nobody can/will implement it...

This.At least they should be brought to the OOB's level or better.

I know this topic has died down, but the sound quality is still holding this game back. No progress to date. Any ideas on how to move this along, or has it been categorized as "good enough" and resources have been applied elsewhere?

It's a large enough change that it won't just be a random update, or even attached to a DLC. Most likely that means expansion level content. Perhaps Pacific?

Just an occurring thought!... and very-likely... it really isn't practical to do it... but!!!.
This 'GAMES-SOUND-EFFECT-ISSUE'... is i think quite a common vexing problem. So!... maybe try-find a 'Sound-Generator-Geek'... to start making up these?... whatever?... 'Sound-Effects'... for "Pacific"... and for... whomever other entities that are willing to pay to have them made up.
This is a 'Research Development Department' that i think is "absolutely necessary".

I must say I strongly disagree with devoting any resources to sound quality (which I feel is not only fine but very well done). I will admit, however, that immersion is not so much my thing and regularly use bright yellow camo for my tactical bombers & paint my tanks with butcher heroes bright red (for blood), recon planes violet, etc...
My .02 cents says hero management is a better allocation of resources.

Not surprised that it would require a sizeable update. It would be worth it, but not at the expense of slowing down AO44 or Pacific's release.
Maybe a separate DLC? That way if the current sound is good enough for some players, you don't have to bother with it. For the rest of us, it will breathe new life and replayability into the game.

I agree!!!... lets imagine for instance the "Star-Wars" Movie-Series... that it was without the pompous exhilarating moving music that added such so-much life thrilling excitement to the show.
So-Far!... "PzC2" is in this respect... as regarding 'Sound'... it isn't what it could be or should be... it is instead nearly... a-Dead-Horse!. I think that exciting-captivating 'Sound'... is what helps the Game to come 'Alive!'... it makes it that much more precious.
For example!... sure... vehicles travel on all types of terrain... but why-not select the most obvious terrain types for vehicular sound adjustment and adjust the sound accordingly for vehicles traveling on them. Driving on sand will not sound like driving on a rocky-surface or driving in mud.
Something like this just may be too-much to handle at the moment... but it was interesting to cover this concept.

The games sound design is simply terrible and lacking any real punch to the big guns of battleships and tanks. Where are the wailing screams of the Stukas dive bombing? I would love to see this fixed. Can it be done with a mod?

Documentary-Sound-Effects!!!:
There is a nearly endless-supply of "Real-Sound-Effects" locked up in Movies & Documentaries... see if some of these can be accessed and used.
