I would say it was between 5 and 10 minutes, but that is still an unconscionably long time to move one BG.

Happens from time to time - there is sometimes a move that is very important, as long as it isn't every move :D

If i look at the timing of my twitter feed, it was probably only somewhere between 10 and 14 :oops:

Seems to me the Hazelbark theory of game time relativity in effect.

You're not suggesting internet time is the same as internet penile length are you? To get the truth divide by 4 or if you're suspicious of the truth in the first place 6.

Its just I like the shooty Cavalry armies but I do find you need a lot of experience to use them to their best. Did they do well against Armoured foot units, just could do with a few tips.

All the armies we fought had knights. We routed 5 BGs of knights over the weekend, avoiding contact with the others.

In only one case was the knight BG routed entirely due to shooting - by handgunners - but the BG rallied again subsequently.

The 3 BGs we wiped out were defeated by flank attacks by Cavalry, sometimes after being disrupted by bows first. The manoeuvrability of the 2 base Elite Drilled Qapuqulu BGs made it easier to get a BG of knights sandwiched between 2 BGs of cavalry.

Another was disrupted by handguns, dropped to fragmented when it saw its foot archers rout, then routed (immediately off the side table edge) when broken through by the routers.

The only significant damage done to us over the weekend by a total of 52 bases of heavily armoured enemy knights was when one of our Janissary handgun BGs got caught in the rear when evading. Reduced to half strength and routed, it subsequently rallied (thanks to being Superior and rerolling a CT score of 7 to a score of 12).

In the last battle our plan on our left wing turned on taking down a BG of 6 armoured HF spearmen on the table edge with combined (Elite+Superior) Cavalry bow and (Superior) handgun fire. So we needed 2 hits at 5s (with 4 or 5 dice re-rolling 1s and some 2s) to make them test, and then we were relying on the CT -1 for the table edge and the -1 for being shot at by firearms to improve our chances. This worked, and allowed us to roll up the enemy line.

The Janissary handgunners were extremely useful throughout the tournament.

Thank you for your explanation, it seems Cav Bow can work and the fact you missed the Knights means I'll give it a shot.

Mostly you want to keep the Knights occupied with LH until you can get them isolated enough to approach them from two sides with Cavalry. Cavalry are likely to eventually get caught when evading from them.


The army above was designed to be able to do serious shooting damage with LH and LF alone. The cavalry were mainly there to deliver the coup de grace.

Any issues dealing with enemy BGs with IC and rear support, or did you just overwhelm them with arrows?
