I have run them in open and themed.

The secret is they really don't need terrain. So moving 2nd is acceptable because then the whole line has double moved and you are 18 MU in.

In open they do not like massed KN. if you face 16 bases of KN that is impressive and hard, but not impossible.

I think they chew up the shooty horse armies unless the horse player is careful.
