Despite the bug, I have continued to play even with the annoying loss of metal and manpower.

And I will continue to play, even with the bug. I am beginning to see that the main effect of the bug is to reduce the reserve you can have of manpower and metal, But I do not think you will run out from it, if you are producing more than you are expending. I am not totally certain of this, but that is the way it seems to be playing out. This makes the game more challenging, bu tnot impossible.

I still want the bug fixed, as I would like to have a bigger reserve than the bug will allow me to have.
