I don't believe you need worry about shooting, your warriors are protected and you have plenty of cheap LF sling you can stand in front of them. A very important part of the army.
Sure, but I DO have to worry about being Medium foot if fighting mounted or Heavy foot. So the 1 per 3 is harder to get as is 25%.

I finished up my dacians and have run them now about 4 times at 800 points and they are good army.

I think the whole -1 MF thing is NOT as big a deal as people think. In fact my last tournament army was MF Dailami and always get the -1.

The idea I think with the MF armies is you just assume you are going to lose a few BGs. But the -1 is not as big a deal because you often don't have the -1 for HPB. And it usually takes awhile to get the -1 for 25% losses.

And there are some matchups that the MF impact armies will cream. I mean the Dacains can go board edge to board edge at 800 points. Where is that LH going to hid?

I've come to the conclusion that these kind of Barbarian armies are FAR LESS bad than under the previous rules I played.

Good points. You could easily have 80 or more bases of Dacians, Ancient Brits etc at 800 points. I had not thought that through. It would work with HF "hairies", too, but they'd be slower and slowed by more terrain types.

Were your Dailami armored? I'm thinking that's the way to go with them.

I agree with you, but the -ve for being MF is a big -ve when it happens. Having a General in place limits this, and you'll likely be better than everyone else's medium/light foot, but armies like helenistics will not really fear you at all.

All but 1 BG which needed to not be to wedge into the point box.

The only argumetn to have the protected is that you think you will run into knights where the points for armd don't help.

To a degree yes. But so the phalanx punches through. Then the tide rolls in from both sides and the phalanx can get hit froma nd back. I am not saying at all the Dacians are the world champions. Only that they are fun and fully capable of surprising people who think MF are a push over.

I agree also Roman superior Armd Skilled Sword legion are going to grind them up too. But the fight is a bloody mess just liekthe scene from Gladiator.

Me and my friends had a Valentine Day painting Sesion...maybe not appreciated by all members of our families, and some of us had to go home early...

I continued on one more BG of LH

Valentine's Day paint party, what a great idea! You know, if you painted up one little horseman in pink, put a heart decal on his shield, and replaced his lance with a little papier mache rose, you'd probably even be forgiven at home...

That stand of horsemen on the far right, the pair with the wolf head decal sort of propped on their base, the rear figure - white horse with black trim, brown reins, conical gold helm on rider - that horse is in a really good pose! In fact, a lot of those horses are very realistically posed, as if sculpted by someone who actually knew horses (a rarity in the world of miniatures, it would seem). What manufacturer is that, please, and do you know the name or part number?

Hmm, if I'm reading that ad right, they're selling Chilean avocados in Sweden, and they're even Haas! :)

Dal, I really like your basing. Can you give a 'step by step' of how you base your figures?

Thanks

Thanks

I realy like these horses, even though they have lots of mould fles.
The minis are all from Corvus Belli, the Celtic range

I will be back about the bases, got to check the name of my colours.

I like it Dal, make sure you remember to tuck them right in behind your fighting BG's to increase their chances of getting in the way :)
