Hm, never used a nuclear bomber in this game. Ever. Anybody?
@all: BTW, I only managed to download, install and activate the Endsieg DLC so far. So probably for the next few days, all bug reports must come from you guys... :D

Looks like you may need to be losing if you ever want to develop the super heavy tank, too.

Alright, after some major computer issues and crashes and hard drives gone missing, I can progress with this walkthrough.
I started with a Panzerkrieg core and won the mission with losing 1 infantry unit to a suicidal Russian tank attack on my AT-covered position.

The core principle you should follow in these defensive missions is deflect and absorb. Usually, you start with a lot of aux units out in the open. Decide which ones to retreat and where. Here, you can save almost all units except for the Nebelwerfer in the north - it doesnt have any transport.
Have your positions always covered with a Stug and dont waste any money on heavy tanks now, 2 Pz IVs from your previous cores are way good enough. Concentrate your Luftwaffe around the single strategic bomber and go all fighters.
Retreat in the north and the south towards consolidated defensive positions. Give up the two northern city objectives (shown in the screenshot) and retreat behind the river. Let the Red Army bleed out, counterattack around turn 10-12 and retake the two cities. Try to retreat the aux recon units towards Stalino and Krasnograd, they will help with the partisan hunt and your regular units can focus on the front. Put all your ground commanders in Stugs or tanks so they dont get injured.

Thanks for the help for confirming the date. I tried to follow another post in the FW thread about pulling up the unit files to see the date to change it, and I tried doing that but it will not allow my to save the changes in the excel file. Is this something that I can mod or does it require a dev patch?

One other question, still unable to purchase Specialization skills that were available previously. I am trying to post the screenshots, but in spite of the guide viewtopic.php?f=125&t=42952 I am not getting them to pull up. I am looking in the thisPC/documents/ mygames/orderof battle ww2/screenshots and i have nothing. when taking the pictures while in the game i hit the PrtScn button. Can get screenshots from other games showing up here, but not showing for Order of battle. Sorry for the newb questions and thank you for the help.

One thing with these defensive missions- well, all the missions; Is that the air opposition is much better than in earlier scenarios. As mentioned above, putting your fighters with aux bombers will allow you to score a lot of free hits on the enemy air complement. In scenarios where you aren't getting aux air units, your best friend is the He-59 tactical bomber. For the 60 it costs you, you can escort it with your fighters and let the enemy air beat the hell out of it. Even if they shoot it down, the cost of the He-59 will have saved you far more cash than you would have spent on repairs for your fighters taking out the enemy air the old fashioned way.

The other thing to help with enemy air is the cheap, 30 cash AA unit. You can place one of these near one of your expensive 8-range artillery units (or two of them located near each other), and the enemy air will target something that isn't covered (and is probably much less expensive) instead. I'm actually fielding 4 such artillery units (however, I unfortunately spent more than I needed to, buying the AA trucks instead due to all the offensives back in Panzerkrieg when I bought them, so I have two trucks covering 4 artillery). I haven't needed to back off of any objectives yet.

I'm just finishing the 3rd mission just now. I can't do my usual let's play replay style, because replay export functionality is busted as of 7.1.4 :( .

Completed mission 1, but my experience was very different from yours. I lost only 1 AT run (the one that starts damaged), but the Russians payed a high price for that because they attacked with 2 tanks and my Flak 88 was supporting the gun via pakfront.

Overall, I deployed 4 Panther tanks and 4 17K 18 and some infantry. VIP of the battle are my two Flak 88 used mostly in AT role. My recommendation is to avoid deploying tactical bombers. FW 190 F are much better choice as they will clear the skies and then support your army with strafe runs which are good enough.

I gave no ground to the Russians. All points were held throughout the whole mission.

I'm curious, if you fielded four Panthers during mission 1, did you achieve the sec. obj. (12 damage) and got the reward tank in the 3rd scen?

Yeah, that's more the way I remember it, too, playing the scen once during beta. Almost a Tabula Rasa, but the tight turn limit got in the way. :)

Unfortunately, I didn't get the objective even though the damage counter showed 27 / 12 at the end of the scenario. I saw a thread about this issue, so it's already been reported.

27/12? There's no way that can be right. I had 22/12 with just the Aux panther!

I did it similar but I only had 2x17K 18 , 2xPantherD (upgraded during battle to A) and 2x Tigers .I used the aux 88 for AA duty and used a Stug for AT duty there. Lost the aux Pak but that was scripted and impossible to avoid first turn.
The Northwest object I deployed a Panther D and first turn I switched position with the Marder AT and BOOM T34 fled!
Also deployed only fighters, I did achive the second objective/12 dmg but only after I upgraded my core Panther D's to model A. Battle fun and I will redo it again when I have time for it! My advice is to use the SS for support units aka Art, AA, AT etc.

Alright, second mission done. This was a lot easier since my reinforcement strategy (no elite replacements) does begin to pay dividends in the form of a growing stash of credits to be used later for fancy new equipment.
I also kept my Panzer IVs, but added Nebelwerfers for defense. * slaps roof of tubes * These bad boys can fit so much shock damage in them.
The screenshots show my defense system in the west and in the east. Rotate shellshocked units to the rear, prioritise arty fire, use your FW 190Fs to hit bombers, fighters and later on the deadly Katyushas.

As you can clearly see, the Stug together with the Nebelwerfers forms the backbone of my core. I will add Panthers soon.

Thanks. I've asked, because there was still the possibility left, that even with the counter being on the fritz during mission one, the objective would still check complete okay and award the bonus tank afterwards.

Odd, I never had that objective misfire in the latest versions of the beta and the final DLC product. Did the damage, got the Panther. Maybe it doesnt work if you use Panthers in your core?

Wow lot of Stugs!!!! I only used one Stug in this scenario. There are alot of aux AT to use one 75mm one Nashorn and one Marder II and one 5cm and instead I have invested in Panthers and Tigers and the Bofors 40mm AA wich is helping out ALOT at the beginning of each scenario. Funny to see how different we do it and still end up winning :-)
