Actually I didn't think it was a deliberate change made, but an after-effect of the popup-windows-not-appearing-right-when-you-clicked-on-objectives-bug or whatever it was. You remember it within your scens and the first Panzerkrieg DLC mission, right?
Yes, I remember. Much agita that gave me, given the chatterbox that I am with popup messages. How would you think that would be related to this bonus trucks situation, though?

I'm still not certain if I remember those three trucks being there from the beginning or not at all, so my reasoning was as follows:
1) Either the bug caused the "Batavia taken" popup message and the following spawn triggers to never activate or
2) due to some error to be activated from the start, without ever showing the popup.
So it seemed reasonable to me that this "truck bug" would appear right about now with the new update.
...and I'm still kinda sure I'm right. That strange?

I don't think that would be the case because, IIRC, the problem with the popup messages was associated with Turn Start. This objective trigger is activated by Capture VP Event.

I don't like to leave things unfinished, so here's my current playthrough (with v5.2 of the game)
Mission played within the campaign; all sec. objectives achieved so far, that means the max. on command points and a weaker enemy naval force.
Deployed my forces as usual, with three fronts:

The northeastern deployment (EDIT: I mean the land units, the naval and air part's rather advantageous) is actually quite useless, as both fronts (NE and NW) arrive to attack the Kalidjati airfield at about the same time - and with no supply ships available, there's no "large" invading force possible anyways. But this way the western roads aren't clogged that much and there's two towns and two supply trucks to destroy on the way, so it's not a complete waste of time.

Battle looked like this on turn five:
(I played as I usually would with a campaign-associated core force that I'd have to maintain throughout all missions. That means no core losses, no (or at least not too many) costly and careless moves, elite repairing, cautious approaches on fortified positions, etc.)

And now to the interesting part around Batavia.
The enemy forces are in rather weak positions and with naval and air support they're being overrun quite quickly.
(BTW Bruce, there's like no way in hell I didn't finish this objective before turn 10 during any playthrough in this lifetime

)
But the fact remains, that with the two AA units near Batavia's city center I'd aviod using my airforce there. And with the spec.'s I've taken (War Economy and Female Labor) there's only one air-CP left for a recon plane, that I've deployed in the south "by default" (sorry, here I'm missing the right English word ...I mean: like a reflex without thinking).
So there's a lot of FOW east of the river.

The event picture's cleverly placed directly over the truck's spawn area...

- Screenshot 502.jpg (481.32 KiB) Viewed 3120 times
And there they are... one of the trucks I've probably never seen because of the FOW over the east bank. And the other two...
I don't know, maybe I though they were some "concealed" units hiding in the city hexes.....
... or playing fast-paced, taking Batavia and imagining that I didn't see the trucks through the FOW...
... or some other explanation.

- Screenshot 504.jpg (500.27 KiB) Viewed 3120 times
Conclusion: Those trucks were obviously always there and more or less just cleverly disguised within the limits of my playing style.
Case closed.
(I'm not insane and seeing things, I'm not insane and seeing things, I'm not insane and seeing things.... I hope....)

Speaking of Java, I finished the map successfully in 27 turns but the "complete map in 30 turns" secondary objective was still a question mark. Was wondering if I did something wrong...

I see nothing wrong with the triggers. It validates at turn start, so you have to finish at least the current turn. Was it unchecked in the victory screen?

In the victory screen it was still a question mark. Same thing happened in Panzerkrieg mission one where there was an objective about leaving units near a city to repair, although that was a bit ambiguous compared to this.
Hmm, you say it validates at turn start? But if the objective means finish the stage, there won't be a turn start will there... I wonder if I should revisit this. Thanks for the quick response by the way.

Maybe there is a problem.
The problem could be that the Trigger "Bonus: Complete In 30 Turns'" checks if all the Primary objectives are completed to validate the secondary objective "complete map in 30 turns" but if all the Primary objectives are completed the scenario could stop before being able to validate the secondary objective (?)
Test version of the scenario:

Yes, you're right, sorry. Forgot for a second that the game can end on the same (end) turn when all primaries are achieved. Good catch, Karis and Mr. T!
Yeah, either the "bonus 30-turns" trigger has to be changed to
Move Event (or similar) or the validation of the primaries has to be changed to
Turn Start.

Yeah, that was also discussed and suggested, but the Devs didn't want to change that. Although there's no "failing" this objective neither. You can either choose to let your units rest and regain strength or use them as they are from turn one on.
EDIT: Reported the Java scen in tech support.
EDIT2: Waaait. Does it mean the scen was always buggy like this? If the above is true, then this objective
never worked correctly...

Hee hee, well I'm relieved it wasn't my imagination at least! Once or twice I've encountered spelling typos too. Obviously those have zero impact on actual gameplay, they're not so severe as to impact comprehension or anything. Think it was some of the last stages in Endseig. The, umm... mission briefing at the start of a stage? Been a while since I played so it's hard to be more specific.
