Race For Bastogne

Hey, so i decided to give this scenario a try and it was good fun.
The beginning bit (first 6-7 turns) was very quiet until the first real US force in the north.
After that a quick dash down the road to Bastogne, while being pounded by the airforce.
However i was able to keep my core units alive by replenishing and hiding in forests.
At Bastogne i pretty easily destroyed the para's and it was really only the time that almost kept me from triumph.
On the last turn i was able to get the last sec. objective and with that got a major victory.
Overall i had fun playing it and look forward to more scenarios in this similar fashion.
(I got a draw because of the primary obj. not concluding, but i have already seen that others reported this)

All ownership objectives are now primaries.
Fixed victory end screens.
Changed AI orders.

I've just started and played only 15 turns of first scn.
I love the tweaked statistics of US fighter aircraft, which at that time served as well as a close support aircraft on the battlefield.
I have postulated changes in this direction for a long time and I'm glad that Erik used it in his scenario.
However, some statistics seem to me too high.
When it comes to Thunderbolts, there is full agreement, but Mustangs and Lightnings should have attack on ground targets rates at 7-8.
Erik, words of appreciation for the use of the Black Widow in this mission. Few people know that two or three squadrons of these planes were stationed in Belgium at the time, they were mainly used for reconnaissance missions and as night fighters, and also but rarely made night attacks on ground targets, hence here should remain the statistics proposed by Artistocrats (10), which are still too high in my opinion.
Very interesting scenario, great map, it's a shame that players and modders don't have Jagdpanzers IV, StuGs IV, Hetzers, Jagdpanthers or Konigstigers available yet.

I like these smallish fast-moving scens even though I got wiped out at the first roadblock by turn 6!
I forgot to keep checking the map edges to see if my reinfs had arrived, and by the time I'd noticed they were on, it was too late to get them into action, my fault duh..

I didn't know these US aircraft were available in Belgium at this time, i just wanted 4 different US fighters/fighterbombers for variety
Art by accident I guess.
My source for this scenario just mentioned 4 air missions pr day would be suitable.

I'm currently testing the 3rd Bulge scenario.

I finished the mission, although not entirely, the level of difficulty is right.
I think I need 2-3 turns more to capture all the targets but maybe it is possible to finish in the turn limit for the second time.
Although I have serious doubts about this at 5th level, because of this VP at the top of the map, which is quite far away and is tightly surrounded by forests from the east.
I think you may add a few turns or delete this point as your mission objective.

2nd attempt= DRAW.
The victory conditions clearly say you've got to capture all 6 objectives, but by the end of the game I'd only captured the first one and was expecting to get a "Defeat" message, but surprisingly a "Draw" message came up instead!
I think jerry will have a hard time winning this one because the US air force is too strong, it keeps whittling the Germans down and they haven't got enough incoming points to replace losses, so they grind to a halt.

I've started this scenario and I'm a bit confused as to which specialisation enables the gain of RPs by attacking enemy units with artillery or tanks? Did I forget something?
EDIT: Although it looks like there's only the wrong hit indicator being displayed without real RP gain. Maybe it has something to do with the "Baukommando Becker" spec. being used?

I managed a victory in my own test, so I'll leave the difficulty as is until I get more feedback telling me otherwise
Horst posted the various victory/defeat conditions in another post recently. I'll see if I can find it...

Note that there are no German specialisations in the scenario itself. That I'll leave to the campaign.
But there are a lot of US specs, I think field medic (or whatever it is called) is adding some RPs whenever an US unit is attacked.

There were 422nd(in Belgium) and 425th(in France) NFS from 9th USAAF in December 1944.
Part of 414th NFS was relocated to Belgium from Italy (from 12th USAAF) in January 1945.

I'm playing outside of my mod with the vanilla version of the game BTW, version 1.1 of the scenario:
Field Medic description: "
Infantry units generate resources when damaged in combat but not destroyed or forced to retreat"
EDIT: Oh, I get it now, the ENEMY's getting the RP's. Never noticed something like this before. Sorry.

You've added German spec. like: PAKFront, Panzerkeil, Panzerfibel, Organ. Todt, and Baukommando Becker:
(you can see it on the victory screenshots of Kondi and Fabio's, too)

Aha, I obviously added German specs to this scenario after I decided to dish'em out one by one instead of waiting until the campaign is ready.

Erik, take a look at these two triggers here. This is "fresh out of the (drop)box." It's strange but in both cases, the Set Objective State is looking at a primary objective that does not exist for the U.S. alliance:

This is the right idea, to have an AI objective to win or lose, as we discussed in your first BOTB thread. However, your U.S. primary objective is called "Towns."
