Is setting up a tournament in the game a lot of work? I guess I just don't see why they are so sparse. Clearly the demand is there when you guys are filling 64 players within a day or two.

I would like to request that you start the 10 day per round tournaments on Fridays. That will give everyone two whole weekends to complete their games.

I am sure most folks who work can do many more turns on the weekends than during the week. And, with 8-10 hour timezone differences, my experience is that one turn per day on weekdays is usually all that we can get in.

I thought that was the main reason for extending these tournaments to 10 days, to allow for two weekends of play per round.

I had quite a bit of fun with the Indian vs Indo-Greek (Tropical) match up. The combination of elephants, chariots, tons of archers, and a phalanx or two for good measure made for some entertaining fights.

Likewise.

The benefit of such tournaments are that you are thrown into fighting with (and against) Armies you may never have considered. My matches swung back and forth and were a fascinating contrast in styles. As is often the case the terrain and it's use proved crucial .

Just starting Round 3. I have been doing practice rounds with the Pontic and Rhoxolani forces to get the feel of them. I found a lot of the success depends on the draw of terrain on the maps. Going to be an interesting fight!

Well I think I still need more practice playing as the Sarmatians. Got fairly well thrashed in round three but still had fun. The Rhoxolani cavalry seem to be a bit more hit and run then the other Sarmatian lists and the Pontic combo of phalanx, cataphracts, plus skirmishers seems to work well against them as long as they stick together and don't get strung out. I felt I had a better sense of the unit relationships with the Bosporan vs Sarmatian matchup where the Lancers can fight off most of the Bosporan units other then the Warbands and grouped up Thracians while going for a flank encirclement.
