Andy, I'm no expert but I would guess that whatever adherbal did to fix that Waffen SS bug would require a fresh start of Blitzkrieg and would not work on an old game save.

Yeah, it only works for restarted scenarios or campaign savegames. To give a very short explanation: the Waffen SS needed to be added to the "core factions" list when the specialisation is unlocked. In previous versions of the game it would carry-over units of any nation on the players side, now it's only the core nations (as it should be). The new code adds the Waffen SS to the core nations during on unlocking the specialisation or at the start of a scenario where the specialisation is present. This does not happen when loading a saved scenario game.

The 4.1.6 patch works great! I can play the Battle of Britain again and it looks like it's had a few updates. Thank you for fixing that!

Yes, we are looking for the developers to "make it official" by making it an auto-patch soon.

I couldn't dl the patch following instructions. It keeps at "connecting" status, but never completing the dl operation. I'm using Steam, would be this the problem?

Yes, as far as I know, that manual patch is only for the download program (and only for Windows PC?). Steam has its own method of program updating and it's a matter of when the developers send them a new patch and when Steam gets around to uploading it for its users.

I have the steam version, too. It is definitely not that. It must be an internet connection or server issue. Try restarting everything and then type it again.

@adherbal: BTW, new unit types still do not show up at all as a message. "New unit types available" as a panel is gone. Still.

Nossir, not on this end-user side. My connection is as good as it can be, I temporarily disabled the firewall and reinitiated my computer from zero ( I had to, btw,' cause the updating attempt resulted in a frozen screen - as usual). Either it is an IOS issue ( Sierra doesn't allow dls from uncertified developers, for instance) or a problem with developer's side, I'd guess. I appreciate the game and whish to support it as long as development team shows care for customers.

Jokes aside, if the game crashes, it should produce an outputlog txt and a crash report in the game folder. Please post these. Someone will take a look. But all the other auto-patches worked, right?

Thanks for your fast reply. On updating issue, since its just an infinite routine, it does'n't generate a report ( or I missed it ). Do you confirm that you received the update from Steam? Mine is a Mac version, is yours the same?

No, I use the Windows version. Mac might be a different matter. I did not receive the update from steam, just an autoupdate from the game menu directly. And the lastest version manually.
Just to make it clear: You are running what version right now? You are using the console command to update your game from the main menu? (see top of this thread)
There should be an outputlog.txt after a crash.

Please describe in the most detail what you are experiencing and post all relevant files. But you can still play the game in your current version, it is just the update that crashes, right?

It does not work for me. The autoupdate pops up, I click "confirm", connects, but after that nothing happens.
I now have a 4.1.1c version of the game after verifying the files on Steam. PC, Windows 10.

Your English is fine. Dont worry about it. Hm. Have you tried starting the update manually from the console? (see start of thread)
Maybe there is a computer issue. Restart your computer, check your internet connection.

I tried by autoupdate, I tried manually (shift + C and #patch patch4.1.7) and nothing worked.
Interestingly, when I started the game after a long break some time ago, autoupdate worked and I had version 4.1.4. Then I read about problems with this patch and wanted to upgrade to 4.1.5, then 4.1.6 - then the autoupdate and manual method stopped working.
I have verified the files in Steam, but after that I have version 4.1.1c and I can no longer update the game.

Hm, so you let Steam verify your game files, but it then went back to to 4.1.1c?
I guess you could try updating now to version 4.1.4, then 4.1.5 and so on manually over the console. Let's see if that works.
Otherwise, this sounds like a job for the man who does code all the patches, adherbal.

I tried. I was able to easily patch the game to 4.1.4 manually, but then ... All the time now is a "connecting" and "please wait" window and nothing happens.
Does it take so long or something still does not work?
