Yeah, I only pretend not to understand anything when I'm abroad. "No, I dont belong to these socks with sandals buffoons shouting at the resort staff. I'm from, uh, Finland. Wanna see my ethnic dances?" (It is a bit like Americans posing as Canadians.)

KeinGeneral,

I have been informed that your translation threatened us or members of the team with lawyers if we don't do what you say when you say it. Just to be clear we have zero tolerance on this kind of behaviour and you have been warned.

Regards

Iain

Well, just to be even more clear, Herr General, it was not the posts in this thread that Iain is talking about. I believe it was your latest post in Tech Support that got reported.

Sorry, I have no or wanted to ever threaten a member with a lawyer. This was misunderstood. This step with a lawyer is directed when against the company Slitherine.
I hope this Google-English is understandable.

Just a word of quiet advice, if I may. There is a saying in English that goes, "You get more with a carrot than you do with a stick." Try doing the following:

1. Tone it down. Don't be so insistent. Above all, don't be nasty.
2. Realize that the developers do see what you write. They don't have the time or the inclination to debate everything, however.
3. If what you say has merit, you may see it come to fruition. If not then, well, it is their game after all. They need to balance time and effort versus reward.
4. Above all, have patience. Repeating your requests until they become shrill demands will most likely have the OPPOSITE effect.
5. In the end, accept the game as it is. It is a GAME and a cheap one at that. It gives much more than it costs but only if you relax and enjoy it.

My two cents. End of lecture.

@KeinGeneral: Since bru asked, I translate for you.
4. Sei geduldig. Wiederholungen oder aggressive Forderungen bringen dir nichts.
5. Das ist ein Spiel. Und es ist recht billig. Entspann dich und genieß es.

Alright, job's done. Until the next outburst.

KeinGeneral,

Be nice to Slitherine.
Slitherine helps small companies produce & market good games. Everyone should support Slitherine by buying their games to help these small but good companies like the Aristocrats market their games. It is very hard for small game companies to market games because it costs a lot and there is heavy competition especially with Steam trying to monopolize PC games.

Well, he just got banned. His last post in Tech Support drove Ian over the edge. Which is something, I guess. Lets see how he will return (trolls never die).

Good to know I'm not the only one who enjoys seeing people being banned. (Sorry mods, but people screaming on the internet because they can't do what they want is pretty funny).

Okay then. Weird how a German hates Slitherine when Germany is a vital part of most of the games. Without Germany's historical 'shenanigans', we'd all be reduced to playing depressing garbage like Super Mario Bros and Minecraft.

I shamefully admit I have a dark desire to actually see the translations of the horrendous posts the troll posted. It is oddly fun to see the extremities of human insanity.

@everybody: I dont enjoy seeing people banned and neither does any other mod or Slitherine staff. (I am quite sure.) The 'shenanigans' meant here were my stupid jokes about posing as a Fin abroad.

But as Ian wrote in tech support and I translated here, there and in pms, he threatened legal action if his demands were not met in time. (Literally "the clock is ticking, ticktock, if you dont answer me or upload patches in a week, I'll call my lawyer and sue you'). Read for yourselves. That and his latest post about Slitherine and the Artistocrats being incapable and lazy while they struggle to deliver a great product for a - lets face it - niche market was just too much. Oh yeah, and his other posts were also getting rather, uhm, unhinged.

The ironic thing may be if someday, one or more of his requests/demands are actually implemented in the game. Oh well Andy, we tried, and thanks. So be it.

I confirm, we have laughed at Andy's joke about Finns. :) (Very good BTW  )
It referred to this whole situation, but it was earlier, before the administrators imposed a ban.
I think this forum member rather than scare the people, should go to an English translator, to formulate his requests, proposals or complaints in a culturally and understandable way, because the language barrier was evident here.

Well, he can still play the game and buy all future DLCs. He has so far been a reliable customer, even though not a pleasant one.

It is decidedly not the language. His German posts are worse and the translation dampens the threats and the viciousness. The Internet obviously reveals our true personalities - some people like bru are helpful. Others are just plain stupid.

Andy, can you psychoanalyze me? Actually DON'T!!! I'm scared of what the results will be.

Now that Bru and Andy have invoked your potent moderator powers to quell a problem, do you feel elation from the huge surge of power flowing through you?

I"m wondering, you can see what games everyone has bought? I must look like a scrouge cause I bought most of my slitherine/matrix games before I registered for an account so you don't see much for me. I suppose there must be a way to now register those games with this GiveWar account. I got some of the smaller cuter games like the Tin Soldiers games, History Channel Great Battles Medieval, and Vietnam 65 and Battle Academy full pack though I haven't had time to try some of them yet like Battle Academy cause I take a long time to get tired of games once I get interested in them. I think Battle Academy is very cute but realistic WW2 game from the pictures I've seen. Have you tried it?

GiveWar, you are giving Andy and me way too much credit. One of us reported that other thread but the ax came down from on high. As far as being able to look into people's accounts, that's far beyond our powers but I can point you in this direction with your inquiry about registering your old games:

Thanks for that Bru.
I also just found this register function. I just need to find the screenshots I took of the serial #s and then I can register them all.
