It's too early to say, but we understand the importance of moddability and will work very seriously on this aspect.

Rudankort felt like this: "No way that OOB is the spiritual successor of my Panzer Corps! ATTAAAACK!!!1"

Good luck with the project!

Great news, but like others I'm concerned about the move to 3D. I love the basic graphics of Panzer Corps and it doesn't need "prettying up". Bought OOB but only played a few turns as I can't stand the goofy graphics. Many years ago I bought Panzer General 3D on the strength of its predecessors but spent about 10 minutes playing it because the graphics had been ruined. Good luck to Slitherine and fingers crossed that it all works out... although to be fair at 53 years old I probably have enough Panzer Corps content to last me until I shuffle off this mortal coil anyway :-)

Hopefully it will come out next fall when I finally (hopefully) get my first anniversary coupon. Maybe I'll be through (or close to it) all the previous versions/DLCs by then. I don't mind the OOB graphics, I just find the game play to be very 'meh' and haven't been able to get excited about it.

Honestly, I feel Unreal 4 engine is an overkill for a game like this.. Not to mention potentially steep system requirements.

Great news! I'm still playing Panzer Corps, as I find the Mega campaign DLC:s very fun and rewarding.

If I could make one request for Panzer Corps 2, then it's a bit of improvement to the heroes function. I like it a lot, however I wish it wasn't randomized names and pictures, but rather names of real WW2 participants who become available and to the approriate unit type. So for example, if I get a hero for my fighter plane unit, I get Werner Mölders, but Mölders will never show up on any other unit type. I really keep my fingers crossed for this improvement.

Re: 3D engine concerns, maybe the developers could include something similar to the strategic view in Civilization VI., i.e. have a simplified 2D map view available for the hardcore strategists who don't want to get distracted by 3D graphics.

Current 2D style icons allow a lot of personalisation which improves playability.
If 3D graphics are brought in it would be a really good idea to have an option to use current icons to avoid losing all the excellent creative work developed over the years.

And if you do keep a soft cap, please:
- make it selectable on/off;
- make it easier to use, track and understand (eg total prestige rather than average, which would perhaps encourage a real mix of front line high value high strength units and cheaper second rank units for mopping up and minor duties to fill up the gaps)
- consider allowing it to be set in the editor so it can be scenario specific (raised or lowered, for example to assist in creating a good challenge). This would require something more like a total rather than an average.
- make it variable according to difficulty level. If someone's playing on Colonel, it seems unreasonable that they should suffer the same soft cap penalty as someone playing on Manstein.

Well, let's just say that I have a different vision of how Panzer Corps gameplay should be upgraded in a sequel. :)

Assuming we make the game in 3D, what other engine would you use and why?

There will be NO prestige soft cap in Panzer Corps 2.

This is quite a big relief.

That's the same as saying "I wont play Panzer Corps because its 2D". Surely the game is what is important not the technology? :)

Of course technology is important!!

For me the issue is NOT "is it 2d or 3d?"
What really matters is "Will it or will it nor run on my current PC?"

If it will I'll buy it, just like I bought every one of the expansions and DLC's made for PzC.
If it won't I will not buy a new PC just to play a game, even if it's PzC 2!!!

Players should not be expected to modify game files.

I hope that there will be a good editor
