Yeah, bro, I meant Stalin; Dzugashvili was his real name.

The EAST coast of the Black Sea?? Shit, no wonder you're yelling bloody murder...

I'll have another look myself.

(Digression)

Here is the CIA World Factbook entry for Armenia.

If you are any sort of student, either formal or self-instructing (like me!), you should bookmark this site. It's a wonderful resource, (whatever one's political opinions of the Central Intelligence Agency), and is updated with truly amazing and gratifying regularity. For example the "World" entry I am about to quote from was last updated 7 days ago.

The rest of this post was just too far off-topic for even me, so I moved it to the General Discussion forum here.

Yes, I saw it. You're NOT imagining things.

It says Armenia on the east coast of the Black Sea.

One thing the CIA World Factbook does not do is show the location of the listed countries in relation to neighboring lands.

I am somewhat embarassed to admit I don't know precisely where Armenia actually is :(

Speaking of Armenians, my uncle came up with a WILD theory one day when we were talking history.

As you probably know, the vikings ruled parts of Ireland for 2 or 3 centuries before the battle of Clontarf.

Now, there exists in Ireland an ethnic group known as the "Black Irish". They are so called because, while their skin is as pale as any irishman, they are characterised by black hair and dark eyes, in contrast to the usually blondish or reddish hair and pale eyes of the typical irishman.

The traditionally accepted explanation for this is that they are in origin Milesian Celts; what is shown in Legion Arena as Celt-Iberians, having invaded Ireland by way of the Iberian peninsula. This in contrast to the main body of Celts who went straight west across (or around) England and Wales.

Anyhow, my uncle was trying to convince me that the Vikings, during their rule in Ireland, had imported Armenians to work as factors, clerks and bookkeepers. And that these Armenians had interbred with the local Irish, thus becoming the ancestors of the so-called Black Irish.

Let us just say that he was not successful in convincing me :)
