Just played mission 1 in the 39´campaign and really liked it, but then I got to mission 2 and all the units are preselected plus there´s a ton of units.

This unfortunately ended it for me since slowly building up my own army and trying different compositions is half the game for me.

But great job, just too fixed for me, and really sorry since I was really looking forward to PC in OOB.

Hm, I'll take a look to see if there are units that should have been removed.
The way I've set it up is to add new units that were not present in earlier scenarios.
So you start with a fixed core in the first one, then decide which units to use in later scenarios.
Also certain objectives gives you more command ppoints which you use for purchasing new units.

Edit: I've been thinking.... It probably is more fun and will add to replayability if you can purchase all units right from the start.
I'll edit the scenarios to allow that.
Thanks for reporting.

Instead of all those given units in scenario 2, I would prefer there to more prestige (but not too much since It should also be a challenge) so I could buy my own units and try different compositions. That would really add to the replayability.

Also I think there are quite a lot of units (77 i think i remember). Maybe that is neccessary I dont know, but its a quite a lot for the second mission of a grand campaign.

I've reworked all scenarios to allow for more purchases and am testing them now.
Some units are pre-bought since there are issues with them not allowing you to purchase. Ie the Gebirgsjäger unit is only available from 1941 although they were used in the Polish campaign.

Danzig is a combination of the original PzC Danzig North & South scenarios that where branched, the player selected between them.
This is currently not possible in OOB. That's why 'my' Danzig is larger than the other scenarios.
The same goes for the later Warsaw scenario.

Blitzkrieg '39 campaign updated to allow for more purchased units.
Lowered German income in most of the scenarios.

It is. Battle of Britain did it, where you could choose between the demonstrations and main scenario. In the campaign file, you enter it as

[BRANCHES]
0 = (scenario0)
1 = (scenario1), (scenario2)
etc.

Then below you will still have it as

[SCENARIO1]
...
scenario = scenario1

Aha, I really need to test this.
Thanks for the info

I´m completely on board with the gebirgsjaegers, since they dont become available until later, but slowly building an army I think is very fun.

If BiteNibbleChomp´s suggestion dont work out and there´s a need for big missions early on, then maybe just more support units could be the solution?

I love your quick responce to suggestions and great job overall.

I couldn't get the branching to work in my first attempt, I need to experiment a bit.

Actually, I think merging the Danzig and Warsaw north/south scenarios works better. Two for the price of one :D
I already took into account the additional aux and core units.
The player does not have to play the campaign 4 times to test all variations...

Do I dl again from the other thread and just install on top of the existing files to play with your last changes?

I tried and yes I just dl again and copy on top of the old files. Even my old savegame works.

I have one more suggestion. Instead of such a massive core force (78 land and 24 air units) in the second mission, I would really prefer if there was more aux units and less core. They could easily be preplaced. This would tie in better with a slow build up of your core forces instead of just being handed a massive core army in the second mission which kind of ruins the usual (and fun) slow build up.

It would also tie in much better with the new specializations.

Just played mission 2 and there are way too many units in my opinion, both german and polish, and way to much prestige. I bought almost everything I wanted and still had 5-600 prestige after the mission. And I didn´t even need all my units, had about 20 land and 6 air to spare.

The next mission seems more balanced, but now I´m afraid I have way too good equipment to fill my 51 land units.

I'll take a look at exchanging resources/land command points with aux units in the Danzig scenario.
Good idea.

Hi Erik

Have you had a chance to look at units and prestige in mission 2? I´m looking forward to continuing the campaign.

I would estimate that changing the number of core land and air units to about 50 and 15, and prestige to about 1000-1200, and adding whatever aux units that you find neccesary would work well with the later scenarios also.

The other big mission in ´39 you mention should probably recieve a similar modding also, but probably not as much.
