Small changes that would make a more realistic game>>>>

More improvements needed and opinions here>>
What would you like next DLC campaign you'd find coming?

My expectation is that the artillery patch will be early next week. It takes us a little while to turn things around and test things appropriately!

If people are eager to help, we could put it out as a Steam Beta and an optional Slitherine patch first so you can test out the changes across the campaigns?

But please make this choosable. Do not let mess it up with the Winter War balance.

Make it indeed optional.
Inform players in the startup screen about a choice concerning a beta option is likely a good start.

The specialization tree is great, just what is needed. Very unrealistic having to choose between two needed specs.

As far as artillery goes, I have no problem with the sniping ability. Any unit down to a couple of points should be on the verge of losing group cohesion anyway. If they can be spotted, being bombarded by artillery or aircraft at this point SHOULD cause unit disintegration.

Depends on how you look at it. The way we see it a 1 strength unit just has a fraction of its strength, staff and command structure in tact, spread over a wide area (and probably mostly hiding in cover). Even if the enemy knows the remainder of such a unit is present in the wide area a hex represents, it would be impossible to destroy that to the last man with pure artillery fire. If artillery was so accurate in reality then there would be no need for snipers or even ground attacks :)
