Just downloaded the game yesterday (on Steam). I've tried replacing the .dat file. I get a windowed screen, the main menu shows up for a fraction of a second than goes blank.
Running on Mac.
Any other ideas?

Delete the "Settings" folder at:
Users\<username>\Order of Battle - WW2\

Downloaded from Steam. Both windowed and fullscreen mode usually start with either black or grey screen and unable to play. Deleting settings folder does not help. Randomly sometimes after rebooting the computer game succeeds to launch. Aproximately one try out of five.
macOS Sierra with latest patches.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

Try disabling the Steam overlay.

Kind of embarrassing but I just bought order of Battle Marines this is all I own after seeing and playing some of the scenarios in the Free WWII Order of Battle I bought Marines - point is it loads fine in my desktop but soon going over to a friends house and I will be sleeping over there a few nights - so in order to not get cabin fever am bringing my laptop - Desktop has windows 7 - laptop has Windows 10 - game would not load properly with Windows 10 even after deleting the settings folder and trying all these other things - I did stumble on a sort of fix which was to start the game get the black screen, which would last indefinitely, but at the black if I press Control then Alt then delete at the same time and bring up the screen to choose the task manager - rather than choose task manager click on cancel upon doing this the game would then load properly but - the main point is that with the latest patch 299 the game loads fine now on my Windows 10 desktop.
so thanks for that

Disabling Steam overlay seems to fix the problem for me. Thanks!

Having a launch problem with OoB Pacific. I run from steam and it just indicates that it is trying to launch via steam and that there was an error. I have disabled steam overlay. I have also tried to register, but steam does not have a way for me to get serial number to be able to register with. I'll be honest, this is the most confusing developer I've ever dealt with in terms of steam games.

This was already completed. After reading more of the previous posts, I tried updating steam since it appeared to be Steam and the game linking that was at issue. Once that was completed, the issue appears solved.

After all the updates for the new DLC's and such, I went to play Battle of Britain and it just sticks on Loading forever and never comes on. I have version 4.1.4 OoB. Is this Mod no longer working? I deleted it and re-installed it but it still did the same thing. Any idea why? Hopefully someone will answer my question. Thank you.

Using the manual patching described here fixes this issue:

Edit: but my Single Player button does not work anymore, so you should wait until 4.1.5 is official...

Thanks for the info Erik. I'll just wait until the next update. Just thought I would play one of the Mods for a bit and ran into that. That patch sounds like more trouble than good! Hopefully a new update arrives soon!

4.1.5 fixes a couple of importing things for me, like the Custom campaign button.
But the Battle of Britain is broken in 4.1.5 (first scenario won't load properly).

Sure hope it gets fixed soon! 4.1.6 ????? I never downloaded the 4.1.5 patch because of what you said previously so I'll just wait for another update. I checked for updates on the game itself but it says I have the newest version and says nothing about 4.1.5. Oh well.

Just to clarify (and that's if I have my facts straight), as of this moment (8/24), the last official auto-patch is version 4.1.4. Version 4.1.5 was like a "beta patch" which adherbal asked for help to look at a couple of changes before they were released to the public. The speculation at that time was the next public auto-patch would be labeled 4.1.6 but some issues were found with 4.1.5. Presumably, the developers are working on the next patch which may or may not be 4.1.6 but for now, the public has 4.1.4 unless individuals volunteered to go to 4.1.5 manually.

After applying the 4.1.6 patch? Battle of Britain seems to be working fine now. Glad to have it back. Thank you.

The same here - the game does not lunch.
The game menu opens, but can't start the game.
I have to update my version "Pacific" 1.9.3 to version 5.2.3.
I deleted the setting folder.
The game does not start.

I really like this game and want to b be able to use PBEM feature. I realize that I 1st have to have the core game in my system 1st which is WW2OOB.
It is my understanding that in order to get any OOB games you must have the core game WW2OOB. Is this correct?
I have downloaded OOB WW2 a number of times now and it keeps coming up OOB Pacific. The version I have download is 64 bit/ 5.2 version. The download states this and yet when I download it I always get OOB Pacific. Why is this?
I have tried numerous times. I dump all prev files and do a fresh download and I get the same results.
thought I had it beat Paulus, that is why I led my 1st support go.
Help, please!
Bob

Well guess what. I just tried to open the game and the screen went black. Damn game would not open!! VERY VERY frustrating. If it was something I did not care about I could forget it, but it is an excellent game and I want to be to PBEM!!
