This was a real nail-biter. At one point I think that I had lost over 40% routed and I was down 23%, but not the required 25% to lose the battle. It was a long haul back.

This was another close, enjoyable game. I purchased four raw Early Pike & Shot regiments to bulk up the army and placed them on top of a very steep hill, where they remained for most of the battle.

As can be seen from the result, a very tight battle. Both sides were victorious on their right flank, so that the remnants of the two battle lines had rotated almost 180 degrees by the end. Thanks Aryaman.

I was fortunate that a French pike kiel and two cavalry regiments chased a broken Swiss halberdier regiment for most of the battle after the first round of combat. That allowed the French pike line to be pinned by Swiss pike kiels while Swiss troops worked their way behind. At one point all three French kiels in the line were fragmented but they held for two player turns before they broke in sequence like dominoes.

Thanks for a good game, well played! No clear winner. The Scots took positions behind hedgerows and up on hills with not many weak points to attack for the Parliamentarians to attack. There was a small hill though that was scene of some very bloody fightings, but it costed both sides too much to keep on fighting. Continued fighting would have ended either way, so neither side wanted to risk losing and move back way from each other.
