During beta there was a discussion about getting a small (?) refund when you disbanded non-core units. Can't remember the specifics, but Lukas (dev) had some ideas at the time.
The idea was to add some functionality that prevented the non-cores from being used as canon-fodder, give them a little love

I mean with field medic you will get small credit when they got attack and was not destroy

I know that the field medic can repair adjacent units, reputedly that haven't moved or been in combat the previous turn (?). Sometimes that works, but not always in my experience. What am I missing, and what are the other benefits of this unit?

The unit itself isn't great, but if you choose the medic specialisation you also get get refunded a small amount of requisition points when your units take damage (but don't get wiped out). This allows you to reinforce your units more frequently, or bring fresh troops to the field.
