Download and copy to your 'my games...scenario' folder.
Select single player -> scenarios in the menu.

Pacific, March 1st 1924.
Japan has just annexed the Philippines and is looking to expand further into the western Pacific.
This are hypotetical scenarios depicting a naval engagement between Japan and Britain/Holland/France.

Any way to get an older version of Midway? 5.0? I started a Midway 5.0 game and then had a hard drive failure and lost it. Now I have someone who has joined a 5.0 game and all I can download is 6.1.

Thanks

Sorry, old versions get binned...
I suggest you contact the other player, you both download v6.1 and restart.

Thanks. I expected that the old versions were probably gone but thought I should verify. I have tried to locate the other player but their game name doesn't show up in Steam or Slitherine. Checked Matrix also but don't see any listing of players. Hate to leave another player just hanging but after 7 days he should just claim the game and it will be closed out.

Thanks Again

I believe I still have a copy, if you really want to finish the 5.0 version. Otherwise, as erik states, DL the new version and start up a new game.

Thanks for the Iwo scenario...I had an uncle that served there.Because of him I joined the Marines..Also in your description you didn't mention how many B-29's landed there damaged which was the reason for the battle

Iwo Jima scenario, is very complicated. Japanese too. only 1/2 of the island conquer :?

Yes, Iwo Jima is a beast. All bunkers and MG nests are based on actual maps, but I think I may have to 'thin out' a bit to make the scenario more playable.

Note that you should try to concentrate on reaching the objectives. Try to bypass bunkers/MG nests/AA units and maybe artillery as well.
All these units are (mostly) static, the AI won't move them. The only units you really need to destroy are regular infantry.
Historically, mopping-up operations were often conducted several weeks after an island was declared secure.

Iwo Jima

Iwo Jima:
Removed a number of static Japanese units.
Doubled number of turns.
Increased US resources pr turn.
Decreased Japanese Resources pr turn.

Erik thanks for your answer, you need not change anything. when you play must find the best strategy to meet the challenge. I congratulate him on his maps. :)

I played your original version of this. I reached 20+ turns. the one thing I would change if I could would be to add some Jap infantry. It is 95% machinegun nests. I made it past the air field in the middle but that is when I quit because I kept hoping I would reach some tanks and infantry to fight. But it is your scenario and I should not complain because I do not have the talent to make one and you do. I appreciate all of the effort you put into this.

Iwo Jima

There are about 20 Japanese infantry units and one tank unit tucked in between all the fixed defenses.
Many of these more mobile units were deployed on the west side of the island as the Japanese expected an invasion here.
So it takes a while before you encounter them, although you should get in touch with the tank unit and some infantry near airfield-1.

Slowly working their way through bunkers, MG nests and caves was all in a day's work for the Marines.
I understand that these kind of scenarios are not to everyone's liking.
Thanks for the appreciaton anyway :D

Anybody else having trouble loading either Showdown in the Pacific scenario in v. 2.2.5? All other Erik scenarios load fine.

I am in the process of replacing the Show-downs with 'War In The Pacific'. There are both 2v2 and 1v1 version of the latter.
Eventually I will remove the Show-downs.

But yes, there are general problems with some 2v2 games for some players.
I have several matches where I can't launch/load my turn.

No more single player versions of Showdown/War In The Pacific, then? Well OK, you did say it would be alright if we were to attempt to convert your 1v1 and 2v2 into single-player scenarios. I will wait for your War In The Pacific versions and try my hand. Thanks.

You can try your hand at the current 1v1 War In The Pacific.
This one's suitable for converting either player to AI.
