Great news! I empathize with your epic sticktoitness. What do we do now, btw, wait for the actual release by Slitherine?

Just wait for the official release announcement, I guess:)
But on the other hand, the build is already here, so you don't have to wait at all. You can just grab it and enjoy it using your old FoG(RB) serial numbers. In the mean time, until the actual release, more work will be done on it (as usual), so some new version(s) will be available by then.
Cheers,
dan

Yes,
This is good news, no, VERY good news.
On the other hand, when I did go to the beta page some time ago, it was not clear to me that I could just push a button, sit back and have everything install on top of / or wiping out / the current stuff.
So, I will be waiting for the official FOG release. Fairness to the developer and to those who have been waiting suggests this be done speedily.

Dan, you're amazing! What a great job you've done here, and I can appreciate the amount of blood, sweat and tears that has gone in to this.
I for one would like to express my great appreciation and deep admiration for your sterling efforts.
Now go and take a long and well deserved holiday.
Best Wishes
Mike

Great job!
Curious what is the "small" version? It seems to be the only one with an active link. What is the difference?

the small version is a version without any resources (asset bundles, list files, etc), which will be downloaded from the server the first time you're starting the game.

You must confuse the Quit Game button (which is the last one in the Gameplay button bar's buttons), with the End Turn button (which is the penultimate button in the same bar). Hoovering your mouse over a button will have that button's name appear in the Gameplay Messages window.

I have the same problem, Dan. And I've made sure I am clicking on the tick, which the tooltip says is to end the turn, not quit the game. When I click the tick to end the turn, it does send the turn off to my opponent, but the game also drops out to the main menu and I have to log back in to the multilayer lobby.

So if it's ready how come it's not on the Coming Soon section of the site? I would have thought Slitherine would be keen to get it back on sale...?

Both FoG(RB) and FoG(U) are using a
PBEM multiplayer system only, which is an asynchronous multiplayer system. That means that at the end of your turn all your actions are gathered and uploaded on Slitherine's PBEM server. Your opponent can download them, and play his turn at any time he wishes to (of course, within a limited time period, currently I think it is set on a few weeks), which means there's no reason for the game to keep you locked inside the game while waiting for your (eventual) opponent's response turn..

Most of Slitherine's staff was away for the
Slitherine's Home of Wargamers 2015 event between 23rd and 25th June. The v2.1.00.1000 GC4 release build was sent by us on 23rd June, and they had to review it after they would return from the event and catch up with everything happening in between. As I'm sure you can imagine, they were pretty busy during this last couple of weeks, and therefore they didn't had the chance to do it yet, but I'm sure as soon as they will, they will also let you know, guys.
