PS: trivia factoid I discovered while researching something in this time period...
Any Star Trek fans, and most participants in popular culture, will be aware of the "Ferengi" race in the Star Trek setting.
As a character on one of the TV shows once described them: "They're greedy, misogynistic, untrustworthy little trolls,
and I wouldn't turn my back on one of them for a second." I always just assumed it was a made-up word...BUT...
found this interesting bit on-line:
"'Ferenghi' and similar terms are Arabic names for European traders, or for Westerners in general. Both the Arabic word
and the name are similarly pronounced [fɛˈrɪŋɡi]. The name is likely derived from the Arabic word faranj or ifranj, 'Franks',
or possibly the Persian word farangi, meaning 'foreigner'. In Ethiopia, ferenj or ferenji has the same meaning. The Greeks
sometimes use fra[n]gkoi (φράγκοι) as a mild slur against western Europeans. The term was used as a partially derogatory
term in India to denote the British."

Update for Londo: it wouldn't take "rum" as a password - too short!

So I changed it to "rummy".

While on the subject of etymology ...
The word "bugger" was derived, via the French bougre, from Bulgar, that is, "Bulgarian", meaning the medieval Bulgarian heretical sect of the Bogomils, which spread into Western Europe and was claimed by the established church to be devoted to the practice of sodomy.

LOL...so when the random pick was done for armies, I drew command of a horde of buggering heretics?

No word from Solly. As we don't have any reserves this time and it is too late, I'll likely just be adjudicating all his matches. This is unfortunate because this means one pool had 6 and another had 4 players. Oh well, this stuff happens.
