"In tabletop FoG:R - which is what this game is closely based on - cohesion is often more important than combat (although shooting is probably more effective in the table top in the short run), although losing combat will result in a cohesion test so ...
FWIW a single "dice roll" of 2 dice is used for the cohesion tests just like the tabletop."
yes and i just won a game where i got the worse of the shooting but he didn't roll his cohesion tests well. this single cohesion throw is going to be a big frustration and if it hits your big unit, you won't recover.

pantherboy wrote:Per fogman's question regarding his cavalry routing to my cavalry I calaculate it to be a 5 in 12 chance of routing. On 2d6 if you roll a total of 2 or less than it is a double cohesion loss. You went to disrupted due to the flank charge, then lost the combat badly incurring greater than 5% casualties (-1 cohesion test), total combat damage suffered this turn exceeds total cobat damage inflicted by a large margin (-1 cohesion test) and Disrupted cohesion state (-1 cohesion test).
Double dropping on a final score of 2 or less requires a dice score of 5 or less in the above example. This would equate to a 5 in 12 chance
if 1d12 was used. However, on 2d6 it equates to a 10 in 36 (or 3.3333 in 12) chance.

Not quite the original question, but reading the other posts I'd guess that even keen designers of other games - such as FoG - are finding it very hard to get to grips with this Editor? I'm very much an amateur but I found it reasonably easy to design a number of scenarios for FoG that were accepted for inclusion in the main list. I've done the same for TOAW, but I'm finding it a real struggle to get anywhere with this one.
Judging by the other posts I think that this is not just due to my woeful incapacity.
There would be a lot more interesting scenarios if the Editor could be simplified.
Answers like:
That is correct.
Also add a crossbow firing effect to the effects file.

however accurate, and however helpful they're intended to be, are - speaking for myself - a real disincentive for the average player to have a crack at it.
