I really love the alternate maps (east of moscow, gorki, ural, east of middle don etc.). It was hard to find a plausible strategy for crushing the sowjet winter offence 42. (they had 3 army groups at the don, 2 armys threatening rostow, and the troops that encircled stalingrad (have to check how many armies that have been) ) Had to make a lot of historical recherche and besides i found a way how germany could have beaten the udssr easily in reality: The russians claim that their oil was in baku, grosny and maikop and that that has been all of it. No other oil sources. If that is correct, then why the hell didnt hitler invade turkey instead of starting operation barbarossa and then he could have taken the russian oil at the BEGINNING of the german-russian war. In that scenario the udssr would get oil from the usa, but that wouldnt be enough for their enormous tank armys. And by the way - lend lease over the persian corridor wouldnt have been possible too.

When tendinitis is over - i will continue my work. Much to do: Two alternate camp. path for 42 - one for bad players (africa) and one for exceptional good players. The third (mostly like in reality) is finished. And many maps have to be done two times: One for good and one for evil campaign path. Its getting bigger and bigger, with a 3d engine it could be a great panzer corps 2. Or maybe 3 if you have your own part 2 in the pipeline. :)

Besides: I post my all new sea lion maps and a few weeks later you release the "all new sea lion dlc". Great that one of my ideas inspired you because my sea lion only has 3 maps.

If you want the long answer, keep reading :)

Metalgery wrote:Another point: I really want to implent a zoomable 3d engine, but that will cost money i dont have. Is it legal to make crowdfunding for a standalone mod ? (kickstarter for example) So you see, at the moment its not sure if the final version will use dmp tileset.
I'm no lawyer, so I can't give you the official answer, but I would assume that because you don't own Panzer Corps entirely (you own a single license to use the software), you cannot go on kickstarter and try to create a new Panzer Corps.

from the license agreement: (yes I'm one of those people who waste their time reading these things occasionally  )

.
You may not copy, reproduce, translate, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works from the assembled code or any part thereof. The software may contain an Editor that allows purchaser to create new assets, modify existing assets or files or create custom levels, scenarios or other materials for use solely in connection with the existing software ("new materials").
I would consider a new engine for the game a derivative work, and so according to the EULA, you cannot do this.
Purchaser is not permitted to use, or allow third parties to use the Editor and/or any new materials created, for any commercial purposes whatsoever, or in any other software, without the express prior written permission of Slitherine Ltd.
This section basically says that you cannot do anything with PzC for commercial purposes, and that basically means involving money. Kickstarter involves money (although not directly for your benefit), so to some degree you could be in trouble if you go down that road.

So if i could raise money for a better Endsieg, i have to do it WITH slitherine. No problem with that, from my side. :D
