Yeah, I suppose that is the key... Funny how much of a difference the 'right' icon can make to overall game enjoyment. If my photoshop skills were better, I'd be inclined to make some original units to enhance it, but as things stand, I can modify fairly well, but not create from scratch. :(

Or maybe I just spend too much time playing and not enough working on my mod skills.

Definitely, icon modding is my way to go... but when it comes to create, well, things are no so easy... :-)

One less icon in the pending list: The Sopwith Camel, a very nice little fighter! :-) I hope all of you like it...

By the way, BNC, there is no way I can make all the icons mentioned in the list on time for your deadline... Sorry. :-(
Maybe you will be including them in future patches to your mod.

Yes, there will be a patch for WWI around April-May.

The tank icons are included in the release version, but aircraft (negating zeppelins) will only appear in v1.1

Hello!

Ah ok, here is the right place to put in all of the new WW1 stuff.

Besides Guille and the other modders...we have to commit, which units we can make (searately). Private mail is underway... :)

If we have only to see a wish list with fighter planes...then it means, that all of the other stuff like infantry, artillery, trucks, AA guns, airships, battleships, submarines, trenchline facilities...is already finished and available? :?

I'm using the stock infantry and AA graphics, I have received the Zeppelin, and no trucks are being used in the mod. Trenches are represented by fortification graphics, as those look similar to trenches, and warships I wasn't planning on updating just yet (plus I have some graphics for them anyway)

OK, so I try to collect and post all the units I made previously that could be used with any free WWI mod.

First, German Infantry '14:

This icon can use the PzC Bridge Engineer animation, which fires only with rifles (there were no submachine guns in use until 1918):

For this HW/MG infantry icon I also changed the original MG34 machine gun to a water-cooled Maxim looking one. Therefore it should use the British HW animation which has a different souning MG with lower rate of fire:

Some arty.

reduced sized French 75 mm mle 1897 (the vanilla one is way too large for a 75 mm gun):

Austro-Hungarian 10 cm M 1914 Howitzer however, here in Italian colours, but it would not take too long to recolour it. Similar howitzers were used by just about all nations:

Austro-Hungarian 15 cm M 1914 Howitzer in Italian colours, based on the stock Italian 149/19 icon. Same goes for this: after some recolouring it can be used for German, A-H and Russian 15 cm howitzers as these looked quite similar.

Russian 76 mm M 1902 'Putilov' Field Gun. After recolouring it can be used for some other similar light field guns such as the Austro-Hungarian 8 cm 1905/08 M or the German 7.7 cm FK 96 n.A.:

A possible candidate for German 10 cm K 14:

Could someone recolour this for the Germans?
